November Update

Let's get right into it because this will be long. 

The Rest of Our Lives' first month up on Steam was an interesting one. First it was pretty cool to see South Korea be the biggest market for the game this first couple of weeks. I wasn't expecting that haha

It was really nice to get the novel up on Steam, because between Newgrounds, Itch and Steam, I was able to get a good range of feedback that will help out with future games. Like, for example, I was very surprised to see how serious people take adult games.

Now, if you checked out this page when I was trying to do the Virtual Studio stuff or have just played Annie Needs a A, you know my main influence is cheesy porn movies with weird stories as an excuse to showcase some free titties. I certainly wasn't expected to get a review saying I was being historical inaccurate in an interracial porn parody of Pride and Prejudice. Live and learn I guess.

In future projects, i'll be staying away from porn parodies of other works just simply because it doesn't work well in the VN format. As we saw with Rest of Our Lives, it didn't leave much room for choices. I'll need to play around with more Choose Your Own Adventure styles and just bring more fun to the free titties.

I also think it is safe to say I should probably stay away from art. I just simply don't have the time to dedicate the necessary time to become good enough in it to put into games. My background colouring was always spotty at best and it'll probably be a few years before my colouring skills get better. I'll just be focusing on writing and programming in the future.

So, any new projects will be shorter (Annie needs an A length), better art (working on getting a good budget together) and more choices but still keeping that weird, cheesy porn movie vibe. Think Wicked Studio and Valentine Video stuff in the late 90s and early 2000s but with weird choices to mess with the story.

This has gotten really long so I'll wrap it up quickly. Messy Academy is going well and I'll be working on it for the next year which is nice steady work while I build up a budget. Thanks for being patient while I work on it.
