A phenomenal talent that is simply incomparable particularly in the astonishingly emotive delivery of his songs - you described it perfectly as if from an open wound. I had the absolute honor and joy of seeing him live in San Francisco a couple years back. He started the show by just walking out and sitting on the literal edge of the stage with his guitar. No intro almost no lighting just straight into the intimate offering of his music to the crowd. Still get chills when I think about it. Worth every minute of the 6 hour drive! So glad you’re getting to listen to more of his music! Off to go watch the other Damien Rice reaction you mentioned immediately!

It is basically a dystopian radio broadcast with the multiple ways the world can end. Made around the Cold War, the Three Mile Island nuclear accident, and the energy crisis, and criticizes the establishment and capitalism. So worth deep diving on, such an iconic punk anthem! The live with Jimin & JK plus the four of them was in the same house i LA where they began the process for the next album - Hobi had just arrived i SK I think. Also JK has an IG again now. Its called mniJungkook (meaning my name is Jungkook) though he's not posted yet. He's also back on TikTok.

2025-10-02 12:17:53 +0000 UTCOkay so T.O.P and the line in Home Sweet Home about being welcome back wherever you are: a lot of VIP (bigbang fandom name) believe that line is to Tabi. It could be. I know Jiyong (GD) wants him back in the group as much as we VIP do. But being realistic, it could also be to his fans -- the line could be to former VIP who left for other fandoms while GD and BIGBANG were on their hiatus. Only G-Dragon knows what he meant for sure, but I love the thought that Tabi saw them perform that (he admitted in an interview that he watched their MAMA stage with pride) and felt pulled back to his family. Tabi has been through SO MUCH and deserves the renaissance he has experienced through his role in squid games. 2017 was a dark time for him and for his fans. Watching him suffer and spend the next decade hiding away and hating himself has been rough. His role in squid game has made such a difference to his confidence that I can only hope and pray that he feels whole enough to return. (He admitted in that same interview that he left BIGBANG to keep from dragging his brothers down and ruining their lives by association 😭) Jiyong has been hinting that their 20th anniversary next year (2026 is 20 years of BIGBANG?!?!?!) will see four members on stage. And while there are two former members, only one of them still has his vocals piped in during live performances like he's just not there instead of erased completely, and we all know which is which. I don't bash OT5 fans because I know how hard it is to let go of someone you loved, and it's REALLY hard to believe someone you care about could do something heinous and vile. I've seen the discourse online going back and forth over what the facts of the case are and it's all too triggering to delve into. So, I don't judge those who defend Seungri and I don't judge those who choose to separate themselves from what happened. But, at the end of the day, we all know that he will not be on that stage when they return in 2026 -- and Jiyong is still teasing us that we'll see a reunion of four. And, his lyrics in Still Life celebrate them being four -- and the BIGBANG members reference Still Life repeatedly. That song is very meaningful for them. Still Life references: It was mentioned in GD's lyrics for Home Sweet Home, Daesung had flashbacks to the Still Life set in his Universe m/v. and Youngbae (Taeyang's real name) is the only member to perform it live at every stop of his tour. The remaining three members want Tabi back as much as we do. I believe it will happen. Tabi (nickname for TOP) is releasing an album next month, I believe. It's his first EVER. If it has the success that I suspect it will, it can only further encourage him that he's not a shame to his members at all. I pray it all comes together.

I listen to Damien Rice so much that I think I forgot that other people may not have heard him before. I love his albums.
