We had 2 winners with recurring roles and 2 runner-ups for the first season and then 1 winner and 2 runner-ups for season 2, which aired between seasons 3 and 4 (i'll make sure to keep introducing you to each one of the contestans as we go on lol)

2025-07-20 18:11:40 +0000 UTCi understand mercedes leaving tbh. i agree that she doesn't work as hard as rachel, and that she doesn't seem to want to, but people cater to rachel's ego. rachel would have quit years ago (and did in season 1 bc she didn't automatically get ONE solo that wasn't even in used at sectionals) if she was continuously looked over like mercedes. mercedes has not been featured at a single competition, which is insane, because they obviously need her to do runs and big notes in the background of most of their group numbers.

Listen she’s very talented very but my biggest pet people with her in the show is she always talks about her Rachel gets stuff handed to her when she literally doesn’t. Rachel literally works hard in the first freaking season she’s literally singing and running on a treadmill like come on like. And the same goes for Santana and everyone else in the glee club no one works as hard as Rachel. Everyone says how Rachel is the favorite but why wouldn’t she be? She’s the ambitious one in glee club her and Kurt that’s my biggest pet peeve especially with the glee fandom like they love Santana because she’s pretty but she’s literally a bully like I don’t get it but then Finn gets hate for retaliating.

2025-07-19 16:00:35 +0000 UTCwhile i like the troubletones storyline i was never a fan of how it started because i feel like it was a lot of retconning when it comes to rachel’s character. so far the difference between rachel and mercedes was drive and ambition, never talent. rachel has wanted this and has fought for it since the first episode like the glee club wouldn’t even exist without her and now they are making it seem like she’s handed everything when she had to fight to get it even when mr schue was against her. meanwhile like they said in this episode it wasn’t until now that we see the same fight and drive in mercedes so i don’t know why they act like rachel was stealing opportunities. also the line where mercedes says why is no one afraid to hurt rachel’s feelings also felt off because the glee club have never been shy about their dislike for rachel so that didn’t make sense to me. this also reminds me of the convo rachel and mercedes had in the car in s2 when mercedes ask why she never gets to shine like rachel and rachel told her she would do anything for the spotlight and mercedes told her that’s why no one likes her and rachel said she would rather be a star than be liked and that’s the difference between her and mercedes, so again showing the difference in drive and fight in them to now all of a sudden rachel is handed everything out of fear of hurting her feelings? yeah i don’t think so. either way i like where the storyline ends up and i like addressing mercedes not being given enough attention i just don’t like the retconning it took to get there
