Im so glad you decided to watch this! and I agree HEAVILY that they were very assuring in continuing as a group and that they want to get together after their solo endeavours. but some people really blew this festa vid out of proportion and made it seem much worse than it was. I was more heartbroken about the fact that they have to be soooo careful with what they want to share especially their military service … as the media likes to make a big deal out of EVERYTHING they say and do (even if it is not controversial at all!) namjoons tears seemed almost out of frustration to me because he knows whatever he says even while he is being 100% sincere … the media or antis are gonna twist their words. and I feel here is the thing that people are not really used to in the idol world: artistic autonomy. genuinely wanting to release ur own style of music and have a say in everything. im glad they are able to do so but many thought that the members don’t like their group songs. personally… I think they are not 100% satisfied personally (as one song cant match everyones taste obviously) and thats a whole other reason to release solo music! idk I just think some armys avoid this video like the plague when its just them expressing their thoughts about their situation! AGAIN they said „when we get together again“ at least 5 times. idk sometimes u just gotta trust them ya know? loved to hear your takes michael! perfect timing considering they are finally 7 again and the last 2-3 years have been a success. they couldn’t have predicted that but its just so nice to know whatever happens next I trust they will release a new project as group in the future. 🙂↕️💜

So we got half the verbal substance that included words like "going solo" and "disbanding" and "spend time apart" and then the boys all crying. So there was definitely some initial panic on the timeline from international ARMYs. And it didn't help that k-media (and then western media following that) started dropping articles saying "BTS goes their separate ways!" "BTS on hiatus." etc. So sure, in hindsight, with perfect subtitles, it's clear that it was just a temporary solo break but the night it dropped...it was pretty scary. haha

This i the first time I've watched it again and I'm glad I did, especially knowing all the boys are back from their enlistment. I hope they all will get to decompress in their own ways. I am so excited for their future both individually and as a group. Chapter 2 has been wild, have you checked out Hobi's new song? Thank you, Michael for this reaction.

I never watched this festa back again cause I remember crying my eyes out for hours, having mixed emotions of I don't know how to live life without them for these two years and then also feeling so sad for them feeling so much pressure and not being okay internally (cried again today lol). I love these boys to the extent that I would have still been here if no music would have been produced in these last two years. All I want for them is to feel happy and be healthy. They have been such a big support in my mental health journey for years and continue to be, the last thing I would want for them is to feel drained of the one thing they love so much. But we are finally here, we did it as BTS and ARMY!!! All 7 of them are back💜 We are here and we are healthy. Music will always be a bonus. I hope they take the time they need before making any new music or content, we will be here forever! 💜 Very excited for more BTS content to come. Thank you for being you, Bev and for loving the boys with us for all these years! 💜

This festa dinner is a sensitive topic to a lot of us because of everything that came with it at the time, but I think it's really important for army to see it to understand them better. Watching this now that all of them are free from mandatory military service feels different. A lot of the heaviness is gone and finally it's sinking in that they're gonna reunite really soon. Everytime J-Hope talks about it on his recent interviews I get more and more excited! It was really good to see this dinner again, really looking forward to the next BTS content here 💜

I think it’s important for every army to have seen this at least once, to get an understanding for their thoughts and feelings at this turning point. I remember the internet felt like it exploded after this was released, with everyone arguing about disbandments and articles using RM’s crying at the end as clickbait - it was horrible and felt really cruel, given how vulnerable and honest they were (and like you said, how many times they reassured us during this video that they weren’t disbanding!!) And because so much focus was on the “breakup”, I felt the things they actually did say kind of got swept under the rug a bit (like the pressure/expectations, the need for growth, felling trapped/feeling like a machine) - I don’t know, it was a weird time. Watching this with hindsight, I just feel really proud and happy for them that they were brave enough to say this out loud and stand by it, that /all/ of them really got a chance to explore and grow and experiment. I think the knowledge that no-one is trapped/forced to be together makes it so much easier to /choose/ to be together in the longterm. I’m very curious to see where they go from now, now that they’re all free and discharged (🎉).

The tannies show their thoughts, hearts, and sincerity often but their feelings of army and being a group aren’t expressed so vividly as it is in this video, in my opinion. So excited for what you have coming! 😊

2025-06-22 02:50:22 +0000 UTCYou're remembering the Run BTS performance correctly - they ended up doing a final concert together in October 2022, after this. At the time they filmed this, they didn't know they were going to do that - but the SK gov't asked them to do a free concert in Busan (for reasons I won't get into) and they decided to use it as an opportunity to have one last concert together before Jin enlisted. At the time they filmed this, Jin was actually planning to enlist in mid-summer, right after this was posted, not December. He postponed it yet again when the concert opportunity came up. It's why he only talks about his current activities as gaming - he was just relaxing because he thought he was going to enlist sooner. When he decided to put it off until December, that's when he reached out to Coldplay for a track he could use as a goodbye-for-now gift, and that's why The Astronaut exists. They did end up getting friendship tattoos! (RM too!) They got 7s, all in different spots. Probably JK's is the easiest to spot, his is behind his left ear. Jimin's is on the inside of his index finger. Everyone else's are in places usually covered by clothes. (RM's is on his ankle, Hobi's on his achilles tendon, Jin on his left side kind of on his back at the bottom of his ribcage, V's is on his thigh, and Suga got his on his left shoulder over one of his surgery scars.) I'm really looking forward to seeing what BTS does next, whatever it is. I know even in j-hope's latest interviews, when he's asked about BTS, his whole face lights up and you can tell how excited he is for the group to get back together. The kpop industry is pretty gruelling and there IS a trend for popularity to drop off after military enlistment - so, I understand why they were so worried back then, being both burnt out and knowing that military enlistment was approaching that year for at least Jin, and the next year for nearly everyone else... it must have all felt so uncertain, no matter what their wishes were. I'm glad they made it through - and also made it through setting new records, the way only Bangtan can.

Then it looped around to jhope, namjoon, jimin and then jin (with his albums). The fans really don't like to go back to this festa bc it was just a lot at that time, like you remember, the media latched onto the fact that they're taking a break and blew it out of proportion into disbandment. I feel the fandom mostly felt scared bc it felt like a big change; they officially told us they lived separately now and then went onto say that they'll take a break and do solo things which at that point we had no idea what it would look like. We also had the enlistment question looming over us still, we figured they were taking a break bc of that but it wasn't confirmed until way later. We were also just really sad bc we could feel how much guilt they felt and we hated seeing namjoon cry, the main reason some army's don't want to go and rewatch this is bc namjoon cries 😂. i've rewatched this festa dinner quite a bit and hindsight really did help, its been three years since this dinner and they did everything they promised they would do during this break and now they 're officially back together!! it feels surreal. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us, whatever form it will take. oh to answer your question, the concert you're thinking of is the busan yet to come concert that they did for free for their government 🙄. That was their last group concert and yes they gave us the run bts performance they said they couldn't do at that point in the dinner. The dinner came first and the concert was a couple of months later. A day after the concert, they started the enlistment process with jin going in first. basically the timeline went: 1. festa dinner 2. jack in the box album and therefore hobipalooza 3. yet to come concert 4. Jin's enlistment confirmation 5. indigo release etc etc

2025-06-22 01:39:35 +0000 UTCI think this is my fourth time watching and I still get teary when Hobi starts getting quiet and in his feelings 🥲 I remember it being a really hard watch on the day it happened, mainly because of the uncertainty that I felt about what would happen, and because I felt selfish as a fan for being sad--I'd only been ARMY for a year and a half at that point. So, I remember being sad but grateful that they were vulnerable and honest in putting this out for us and agreeing wholeheartedly that a pause for personal growth and exploration was a necessary step, and that military enlistment was also inevitable. And it has been such a remarkable three years! I think I still cry every time, because I know the struggle just to say these things out loud to ARMY is only the tip of the iceberg of tears they must have gone through before and after this dinner. Change is difficult, but knowing that we have to always be changing to be better is, I think, foundational to BTS and their message. These humans. I'm so grateful they decided to make music and be artists in this lifetime 💜
