I cry when you cry (aka the entire second half of the last ep) 😭😭 I didn’t care as much for this season but I’ve now left this reaction loving it haha. Watching with you always makes me appreciate movies/shows more (:

2025-05-12 01:33:09 +0000 UTCThe Benedict storyline ended up by the end to be one of my favorite parts of the season for all the reasons you listed. It’s nice to FINALLY get the queer Benedict story that everyone has expected since the beginning. I was honestly really annoyed by his story early on being nearly copy and paste of every story he’s had with a woman on this show with him just trying to be free and do what he wants but they pulled me back in with this new facet of the story. Queer representation has been sorely lacking in the main story of Bridgerton (Queen Charlotte obviously not included bc Brimsley and Reynolds forever have my heart). It’s been a bit annoying that they haven’t delved into it before with the one exception of Benedict’s friend who was only in season one. And I know people say it’s not historically accurate, but neither is the fact that they solved racism in the 1800s within like 40 years. As for Pen and Colin, I’ve been waiting for them to finally happen for as long as I’ve wanted queer Benedict. Friends to Lovers is one of my favorite tropes, even if the slow burn can be frustrating. And they really delivered. I love that they carried over the Violet and her gardening needs from Queen Charlotte, and I love how connected that story was to Lady Danbury. Those two are two of the best characters and actors on the show and I love any time they’re together. I really wish that they would give us more of the Bridgerton Story, especially with the show taking so long to produce. I would love a season like queen charlotte to delve into more of Lady Danbury’s life or Violet’s love story with her husband, or Lady Featherington. And they could do it the same way they did QC and have it bounce back and forth in time to further the current storyline of those characters.

2025-05-07 05:03:17 +0000 UTCI loveeee this season so much! Maybe because I relate so much to the wallflower thing, having self worth issues and just trying to find your voice. It’s a beautiful romantic love story but a self love story too, for both Colin and Penelope. Also loved seeing the healing of the Featherington dynamic and seeing them trying to be better towards each other. It’s very real and relatable. The stuff with Pen and her mom made me cry too. I’m really excited to see how season 4 unfolds. I have a feeling it’s going to feel like a different show in some ways. That ending where lady whistledown voiceover said goodbye felt like a series finale of sorts. So I think the feel of the show may change moving forward, especially with whistledown’s identity being known now. And it’s confirmed next up is Benedict :)
