You shall be alone now, I shall not be there to help you anymore, but I have taught you well, shown you enough so you should be able to look after yourself. Darker times are coming, Alexa. You must be ready; you must be strong… like the grass. You must not hesitate. You must survive.”
He held the sword out to me. “Take it, onegaishimasu.”[1]
I reached out carefully and took the extraordinary weapon in my hands. It felt alive, magical, as if it had a soul of its own. It was much lighter than I thought it would be. It was in immaculate condition and as sharp as hell.
