Nobody did. There was no warning. No alarm. No emergency broadcast or news bulletins to give any warning.
The governments of the world surely knew. Or did they? Did they know, but they kept it quiet. Maybe to avoid a panic? What would people have done if they knew? NASA surely must have seen it coming? Somebody with a telescope or one of those thousands of powerful telescopes that scanned the heavens every night must have seen something? How could something that large not be seen?
I was sitting in Mrs Bloomsdale’s biology class when it happened. I remember that day well, like it was yesterday. You tend not to forget the day when LIFE, as you knew it, came to an end. When the world as you knew it came to an end…
We were busy with the human anatomy and the reproductive system of males and females. John Wilkens was ogling me and my anatomy, trying to stare up my skirt and get a glimpse of my reproductive system, while Mrs Bloomsdale’s voice droned on in the front of the class, as she continued explaining the slides on the PowerPoint presentation on the screen.
Wilkens smiled and made suggestive signs at me, while his cronies sitting next to him, enjoyed his unwanted attention towards me with great glee and enthusiasm.
