Embrace The Void 269: The Language of Terrorism with Chris Kavanagh
Added 2023-06-15 03:18:09 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
I (Chris) was a guest on Aaron Rabinowitz's podcast to talk about some research I was involved with that you may or may not be interested in.
Thought I would share here in any case. It's kinda Guru related... about research into linguistic markers in extremist content and terrorist manifestos.
You can find a link to Aaron's show here: https://voidpod.com/podcasts/2023/6/9/the-language-of-terrorism-with-chris-kavanagh
And you should look up Julia Ebner's other research and work if interested in finding out more (https://twitter.com/julie_renbe?lang=en) as she is the primary researcher (I'm her co-supervisor and co-author) involved and has done a lot of other interesting research on the topic.
Cheers!

I'm loving this, but, Chris, you need to explore the Quakers?

2023-06-20 01:32:19 +0000 UTCSadly, I have a connection to one of the terrorists covered. My sister taught him Freshman English and had to hand over copies of papers he wrote for her class to the FBI for their case against him. I’d be curious if those papers would yield any results.

2023-06-15 08:05:26 +0000 UTCAlready Embraced the Void. You (Chris) sounded more academie (sic) to me (internet rando) than you ever do on DtG. Ironic, huh.
