About that Rogan 'apology' video *UNEDITED* (Audio)
Added 2022-02-03 07:20:34 +0000 UTCThe audio version of the video version.
Wherein we see if Joe's apology/explanation is as convincing as many seem to believe.
Grumpy buggers that we are, colour us skeptical...
Interested what others think though!

Bari Weiss should be a good one. Make sure to dissect her pro Israel rants from the last 15 years.

2022-02-16 17:40:25 +0000 UTCAny comments on Bret Weinstein interviewing the Australian senator today? Lots of “terrifying” and “horrible” things going down in Australia according to Bret and this guy. Some of it does sound frankly a little scary if true. Thoughts?

2022-02-09 07:03:15 +0000 UTCYeah maybe. I was thinking of the Rogan N-word bonanza video that is making the rounds these days, which is really stupid. No need to add to that shit-fest.

2022-02-08 17:58:26 +0000 UTChaha nice. I thought joe saying "i'm not an expert" contrasted with his "i'm an expert dr sanjay gupta" would be plenty of context

2022-02-08 16:37:59 +0000 UTCClips with no context... As DTG promo? Sounds like a terrible idea.

2022-02-08 01:31:21 +0000 UTCSince you already have an editor, and already have clips, it may be a good idea to create 90 second soundbites of a guru's greatest hits as promotional material. I think contrasting Joe's inconsistencies here would bring a lot of eyeballs if it made the rounds on reddit

2022-02-08 01:03:57 +0000 UTCI’ve kept my sub to Sam. He’s a tough nut to crack. Just when I’m ready to give up on him, he pops up with a really quite rational and considered take on an issue that I just cannot poke a hole through. And then, alas, he proceeds to infuriate me with an almost banal take on forgiveness and defense of one’s tribe. Yes, tribe! For a man who claims to run dead down the centre, his use of extreme examples is a double edged sword that obviously causes blowback every now and then. At least he hasn’t succumbed to audience capture. Where’s Hitch when we need him most?!? I miss the irony. I’ve also discovered some supreme whiskeys to recommend!

2022-02-06 05:58:39 +0000 UTCThanks for the mini-episode on the Rogan defense. I'm hoping he keeps his Insta-promise and invites guests with the expertise, communication skills, and guts to counter some of the misinformation he's broadcasted. But I'm not holding my breath. (There's no single perfect person, but Zubin Damania, MD -- aka ZDogg -- is an example of someone who might do a good job.) I've been thinking about the business model of being an outspoken anti-vaxxer these days -- it's a $Billion industry. Aside from Rogan and a few other podcasters (Weinsteins, e.g.) there's Substack, of course. I came across this today in MedPage Today: https://www.medpagetoday.com/opinion/revolutionandrevelation/96978?xid=nl_popmed_2022-02-04&eun=g1897909d0r&utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=PopMedicine_020422&utm_term=NL_Gen_Int_PopMedicine_Active There are some Gurus mentioned in the piece.

2022-02-04 20:43:41 +0000 UTCI don’t know… Is it intellectual dishonesty? - to be unable to keep your uninformed opinions off of fucking Twitter? It’s just sad.

2022-02-04 12:13:47 +0000 UTCAnd the whispering, god it’s annoying. Not sure if it’s Malone or the other guy but it’s a whisper that says “now I’m conspiring, hear me whisper as I let you in on these important secrets. Ugh

2022-02-04 08:24:54 +0000 UTCI laughed also at the Joni Mitchell comment. I’m a musician and both Joni and Ricki Lee fan, but any casual listener would know that. Joe is a dumbass. Thanks fellas and how bout Tom Bilyeu? Maybe he’s a too obvious huckster. All I know for sure is he makes sick.

2022-02-04 08:21:53 +0000 UTCFound Joe’s defence hilarious when he said that he loves Joni Mitchell because he loves the song “Chuck E’s In Love”. Joe’s research abilities could be summarised with this example - It’s not a Joni Mitchell song. Maybe Rickie Lee Jones isn’t in the Cooties file where all the important stuff is :)

2022-02-04 07:41:33 +0000 UTCThe left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. The man has a problem. His defenders are intellectually dishonest, which is a particular problem for Sam Harris given his almost religious like fervour on the matter. As Chris so eloquently phrased it, it’s all so fucking obvious.

2022-02-04 00:20:30 +0000 UTCYou should also do an episode on Bari Weiss and her defense in her newsletter of Rogan because it’s getting more and more ridiculous

2022-02-04 00:09:12 +0000 UTCInteresting that they talk about a global conspiracy to induce fear in the minds of the masses, yet the people in my life who are currently the most afraid of the world are those who listen to Rogan and his guests. It's also sad that Malone and McCullough rarely (if ever) ask, What if we're wrong? Talk about delusions of grandeur (and with McCullough, this delusion comes off as a cloying neediness: his constant need to remind the audience that he is smart, well credentialed, extremely highly cited, etc., was bizarre).

2022-02-03 20:44:49 +0000 UTCThose things I’m sure were happening, but that isn’t evidence of a nefarious plot. Of course public health agencies should plan for pandemics, that’s one of their main functions. Of course vaccine companies will be researching different types of vaccines. I think by emphasizing this we can take some of the wind out of the “special secret knowledge” sails that make conspiracies so appealing.

2022-02-03 19:06:20 +0000 UTCGood episode. One comment- something I haven’t heard you guys really address in detail (which is fair because it’s hard to sufficiently nuance I think) is how, by stopping shy of outright saying what it is they’re implying, these conspiracy fucks leave room to wriggle out by saying critical people are denying provable facts- particularly around things like CDC “planning” for a pandemic or Moderna working on vaccines before Covid

2022-02-03 19:02:52 +0000 UTCRegardless of whether or not there are paper trails currently-available leading to Joe Rogan's show itself, we do know that people are dying because of the talking points presented -- that there is a conspiracy to not cure people with hydroxychloriquine, etc. in order to drive up hospitalizations, or vaccines, what have you. Check out this really brutal three part video put up yesterday on the sorryantivaxx site -- a Bay Area man (from last fall) makes it very clear why he didn't get vaccinated, parroting these talking points, and ended up sadly regretting it . . . . https://twitter.com/sorryantivaxxer/status/1488989636613476353?s=20&t=dkzzSLnCAPMmnMLQH8nDEQ This is one of the most moving set of videos I've seen during the pandemic for what is almost certainly happening every day out there . . . . it just happens this guy had chosen to "document" his experience to prove the conspiracy theories true . . .

2022-02-03 18:02:14 +0000 UTCAh, the reliable boilerplate of the Quack Miranda warning* along with the JAQ-ing* off to legally cover their asses. SCAMmy* scum these grifty narcissists are. Who needs morals? Who needs pesky ethics?

2022-02-03 17:40:41 +0000 UTCRogan is so full of shit that he “loves” Joni Mitchell by praising another artist’s song. In a prepared fauxpology. (“Chuck E.’s in Love” is a Rickie Lee Jones that Joe has mistaken for JM song. FFS.)

2022-02-03 16:38:53 +0000 UTCBravo! As usual, you give clear, concise arguments. I could not believe Shermer, Harris, et al and their 'atta boy' statements on Twitter. Incredibly disappointing. Thank you.

2022-02-03 15:46:30 +0000 UTCBrilliant analysis. Thanks so much. I’ve cancelled my sub to Sam Harris who is clearly an oaf for endorsing this false apology. Also I noticed that Jordan Peterson had twittered that rogan told a good Neil young story. No He didn’t. His story had little to Do with NY and simply described rogan running away from trouble that presumably he was contracted to prevent. Rogan is a frickin coward too it seems. Best wishes conal

2022-02-03 13:11:00 +0000 UTCYes, this "apology" infuriated me as well. It's all very well saying you want people with differing views on, but the claims being made by Malone and McCullough are absolutely appalling. Malone in particular is clearly saying that there is a global plot, supported by the US government to kill people and instigate some sort of ill defined "control" through vaccinations. Some people are going to take this seriously, not get vaccinated and then die of Covid. If only 1% of his audience decide not to get vaccinated based on his show that is potentially hundreds of people who will end up dying. Joe is not taking responsibility for the fact that he is in some very real sense responsible for these deaths, and that's what annoys me.
