Thanks heaps Sian, and to everyone saying nice things here! It was painful but good To do I thought

Guruspod 2

Thanks mate, appreciate it

Guruspod 2

Thanks mate appreciate it. I’m told (by Chris as well as others) that when Joe leaves the politics and the conspiracies alone, he’s a good interviewer and produces good stuff. Maybe we can hope someone sympathetic has a word in his ear to do more of that

Guruspod 2

Yeah, Jocko seems much better than Joe but some of the geopolitical / economic thinking is painfully naive and simplistic

Guruspod 2

Someone did a media survey recently and it seems he is indeed pretty polling pretty well - comparable to MSM but it’s hard to make exact comparisons

Guruspod 2

Yeah the whole US right is loving the concept of Australian under the boot of tyranny

Guruspod 2

And youse all have to listen because I don’t see what I ought to suffer alone

Guruspod 2

Thanks Paul, “proud to serve” ;)

I just checked in with Joe and Tim Dillon...didn't take them more then 2 minutes before they were talking about the draconian Australians and their mandates. He's really gettin some gooch tickling from somewhere.

Like everybody above, I want to "thank you for your service" for listening to this shite so I don't have to. And Matt's right, the Patreon dollars are not nearly enough to compensate for that pain. On Joe himself, never listened to his stuff, but obviously aware through the general online backchat. On the whole I didn't find anything too surprising. Apart from his apparent penchant for inserting the antisemitic Soros conspiracy into all kinds of random conversations. That was an unpleasant surprise. I'm guessing him moving to Texas to spend more time with his network of deplorables, like Alex Jones and co, is not going to improve his ideological slide to the right.

Actually, thanks Aaron Cullen ...I looked up Knowledge FIght and been listening to the last month or so in sequence...I am so tempted to make the "red alert" beginning my text/ringtone!

Kyle s

He's really , really bad now. Well done - definitive decoding and would have been hard to do if not for Covid and sharp focus that Covid Times have brought to real life damage these a-holes are capable of which was more nebulous if just culture war bollocks. With Bob Wright decode ( i admit to also being a fan..) but re-listening to your JBP / Brett WineSteen episode and JBP's teleological narrative around the universe and evolution going in the direction of Christ aint too far away from the Dharma of Bob's albeit hard-to-pin-down teleology on an intelligence / arc/ purpose for evolution of life and universes having a direction. Be interesting to see what you make of that when Bob thinks it- but hey , just asking questions... Great show lads....

Are we sure Joe is as big as everyone, himself included seems to think he is? As mentioned in the episode, he got behind Tulsi pretty hard in 2016 , (Yang too) and it didn’t really help either candidate. I vaguely remember Bari Weiss reporting from a yang gang meeetup and she said that the majority of people there had heard about Yang via JRE. yang was polling at less than 1% at the time I believe.

God - Alex Jones. I'm continually reminded of the quote by Churchill about democracy being the least horrible of the choices. I'm all for free speech, but damn. I used to see AJ as someone to laugh at on YouTube, and then dismiss. Now the stuff I used to laugh at, just worries me, when I realise just how prevalent the beliefs are.

Thank you for making this podcast. I have never listened to Rogan. I do listen to the podcast "Jocko Unraveling" which has a quite different tone. As I listened to the subject Rogan podcast, I found comments pertaining to the relevance of U.S. WW2 armaments capacity to future war especially dissonant given 2021 weapon systems technology. It really hurt my head to hear what Jocko said. I doubt he would say the same in discussion with his "Unraveling" co-host. Guess this is an example of the value of your podcast.

I agree with you, for a long time (I don't know about recently) he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. He was willing and happy to sit down with, share a drink/smoke and talk to people, regardless of whether he agreed with what they had to say or not, and I think that was a huge part of his appeal. He was always a bro dude but he was aware of his limitations, and provided you accepted that it was immature and uncritical, his content was fine. Now it just seems to be horrendous. His friendship with Alex Jones for so long is really intriguing to me. I've listened to Knowledge Fight for years and Dan's deepdives into Alex's past are so telling. If Joe was willing to form a relationship with him then it implies to me that the roots of the current issues run very deep.

Aaron Cullen

Yeah, I don't think Joe's flaws come out in how he treats other people. A big part of his draw is that he's accepting, empathetic, and open minded. It's just also true that he's always been a touch conspiratorially minded, which in a vacuum isn't that big of a deal, but in the age of covid is a huge problem. Man I remember him trying to convince Eddie Bravo that the Earth wasn't flat. It was light hearted fun, yeah. Things have changed so much.

What I used to like about the Joe Rogan Experience was that, from my experience of listening to occasional episodes, was that it was unapologetically "masculine" but I never felt it was misogynistic. He used to bring on a lot of young, conventionally attractive, female comics and I felt that he was trying to give them a leg up in the industry. I never listened to an episode and thought "he's trying to crack on to her", I always thought he brought these women on because he thinks they're funny. I liked the episodes with Goggins and John Witherspoon and I could laugh at Eddie Bravo talking about flat earth for days. But in the last few years the turn he has taken is abhorrent to me. I don't know if this stuff was there all along or if Covid has brought it about

Aaron Cullen

I think inviting high profile guests backfired, and now he thinks he's qualified to put the pieces of the puzzle together himself via knowledge osmosis or something. It's sad, but I can't tell if covid pushed a bunch of people I listened to off of the rails, or clearly outlined what was wrong with them in the first place.

Stigs

Gents, this is where I feel this show moves from enjoyable entertainment to valuable, useful and important information. As a former JRE fan I'm really grateful that you guys have put this together. At least now I can point my friends who still listen to Joe to something concrete that demonstrates the dangerous bullshit he's putting out now. The fact that Matt, of all people, cut Joe to the fucking bone tells me so much about how much of a shit he has become. At one point Joe, for the most part, was a reliable source of light-hearted entertainment. He's now deliberately making the world a worse place for his own enrichment and to enlarge his own ego. And he looks like a broken thumb on steroids. Well done.

Aaron Cullen

Thanks for a great episode, I was convinced that I could never enjoy a piece of content featuring the asshat Joe Rogan, and you’ve proven me wrong. I’m sorry that Matt had to suffer through two episodes of this nonsense, but thanks for taking on that suffering for those of us who just can’t.

Shawn

The self contradiction even in one line! "Apple has more money than any corporation on earth, they're not the richest but..." or "I haven't been sick a day in the last 7 years, I had covid but".

Emma

Thanks guys - that was very well balanced I found.

Kyle s

Your sins must have been vast and varied because the penance is a doozy! Cheers guys.

elcid

Over three hours? It is like Christmas has come early! Will look forward to listening to this episode.

Louise

Looking forward to it. Anticipating that I will feel grateful for not taking Rohan seriously when I was in my early twenties.

Giovanni

Love it! Never figured out the release schedule anyway. Still working my way through the catalogue. These are evergreen, so don't worry too much about on-the-day consistency, not why I'm support the Patreon. Cheers!

Jørgen

I came here to say the same thing. I'm grateful for all the work you put into getting these things out! Y'all are amaze-balls. Many thanks.

Sian Gibby

Cheers! Thanks guys :)

Peter
