General Update

Hey everyone,

Chris here. It's the start of a new teaching term in Japan and various other work related deadlines have arrived so the image above is fairly representative of my current status.

This means that some of our admin has been a bit delayed and I'm sorry for that. Our next episode will be the Stuart Ritchie interview that some of you will have already watched. We've edited it a bit to clean up some stuff and will drop it on the Patreon audio feed today and the main feed on Friday. I'm also trying to get some time to upload older gurometer episodes onto the Patreon feed but I wouldn't hold your breath for the next few days.

For the main feed episode, we will also (probably) record a new short intro to give an update on things and also because we need to insert our first ad read. We've not managed to do that yet because in our previous attempts we sound like we are in a scripted hostage video, so we thought we should wait and give it another shot. Part of the problem is that we can't quite stop ourselves from undermining the product we are supposed to promote, in short we are not exactly natural advertisers. Maybe it comes with practice.

In other news, we are in the final stages of scheduling interviews with:

1. Annie Kelly from QAnon Anonymous and Vaccine: A Human Story

2. Stuart Neil- the academic and very well informed person about lab leaks and coronaviruses.

3. Julian Walker from Conspirituality.

4. A special mystery guest you will find out about in October.

Our next episode after the Stuart Ritchie one will probably be the joint episode with Aaron on O'Fallon & Lindsay (we've decided to scrap the existing recording and start from the top due to the delay) and if not we will start our 'Season of Self Help' gurus. Mickey Inzlicht from 2 Psychologists, 4 Beers will also be joining us as a guest host on a forthcoming episode. We also want to cover Rogan, as part of the Self-Help season and are (perhaps...) considering the episode with Bret and Heather since it was sooo terrible.

Finally, I'll make a post soon about the live hangout for this month and please let us know if you have any ideas about how we should celebrate our one year birthday!
