Anthony DeMello was a Jesuit and Christian mystic who produced some 'popular' lectures about spirituality in the 80s/90s. The now ex-pope, then Cardinal Ratzinger, also issued a warning about how his teachings could be harmful to Christians.
Chris came across his content as a teenager during his Buddhist dalliances and found it very persuasive. But how does he feel about it now? And how will Matt react?

I actually really like Anthony, total guru for sure. I hope you do more "historical" gurus. It's interesting to compare these modern culture war gurus to one's from the past. I would also like and episode that dives into the more western Hindu/Buddhist wooie gurus, like ram das.

Also, consider NXIVM, Keith Raniere is extremely guru-like, and especially wicked. He could easily be the subject of a study on Dark Triad personality traits, and theres a great documentary about it on HBO.
