His Bet, Her Loss V0.1 – Hangover (10$) tier [English/ 简体中文/日本語]

Alright. Feels like it's a long time coming. Or maybe not? It's hard to say. I decided to put on hold Hangoverse so I could try something more… interesting. I just can't tell if it's been a long time or not. In any case, this is what I was working on. His Bet, Her Loss was supposed to be some throw-away game that would be easier to describe as "fast-food NTR). I wanted a project that was fast and to the point. Where I could test a few things without feeling guilty for doing so.

In other words, this game is supposed to be kind of retarded. In the sense that, if you're looking for good writing or even good NTR… you might have to look hard for it. One thing you will find, though, is good art. Seriously, my artist is so great.

Here's the synopsis of the story:

"There's no way that would happen. It's porn logic—that's what it is!" Karl was drinking with his teammate and rival Derrick, complaining about the porn he’d watched that day. A girlfriend cheating in five days—how ridiculous. He found it so preposterous, in fact, that he was ready to bet on it. What he wasn’t ready for, though, was putting his money where his mouth was: "Let’s test it on your girlfriend then."

I've always had this idea in my mind. Of a bet about whether the MC's girlfriend would fall for another dude. I wanted to force myself to not make this an overly long game. And so the bet would be something like "in five days". That way, I have no way out of it. I was aiming for 60k words. Something short. Probably not very good. But at least hot. But even then… I think I'm not going to be able to stay on the 60k words track. I hope I do, but I'm so bad at this. It shows just how many things I still have to learn as a writer.

As for the corruption… it's hard. It's fucking hard to put myself in a box like that, and so… yeah, well. Like I said. This is retarded.

Now, for what's featured in this update:

- 11k words

- 4 CG sets (+menu screen)

- No sex scene (yeah, I know. I said it was going to be short, but I'm an idiot)

- 4 original tracks.

For the original soundtrack, there's one track I wanted to use for the main menu, but I don't have it yet. So for now, I put a placeholder, but I might keep it. It kinda gives a vibe, I guess.

I feel like there are a lot of things that I should talk about, but I've been messing around with this for five hours straight now, in my mind is a mess, so I'll just talk about what's frustrating me the most.

I made a mistake. I hired a voice actress, which is, by the way, very talented. If there's anything wrong at all, it's all my fault. But I used a tool to extract the dialogue so I could fast-track my work for the voice actress… and the tool didn't quite work properly. There are 33 lines that were not voiced because of it. Because of me. And that annoys me. But since, I was able to add them all in the game. So you guys won't notice that blunder.

Also, my Japanese translator… I don't know how good he is, really. So, the English-speaking retard that I am will find the voice acting to be somewhat on point, but I'm guessing someone who knows Japanese might have… another view on that matter. And if that's the case… it's because, once again, of me. I should have someone to help me with all of this, but I'm just… alone. I've always worked alone. But this might show the limit of that.

Anyone who knows Japanese, playing my games, please tell me if the translation is good and accurate! I've had no feedback on it as of yet.

In any case, this is frustrating. But still, I'm somewhat living one of my dreams since I have an excellent voice actress voicing one of my characters. I hope you will enjoy her cute voice.

I think I'll leave it at that. I could talk more and more about… lots of things, but I'm tired. The best is to let you guys play the damn thing and give me your thoughts about it.

Once again, this isn't a project I put much thought into. I just wanted something to work on that would be more interesting than Hangoverse. Don't expect much.
