Should We Save This Boy?

Fajar asked us to make this video. It was more important to him than even a piano.
I hope you can feel through the screen a little of what it meant to us to be able to make this, even from such a distance.
I cannot express in words the thanks I give to the entire staff of We Love Reading (but most especially Lina and Mays), to my sister, to the government of Jordan and to every family who let us into their homes and allowed us to see their truth. We will never forget it.
And as always, thank you too!

2023-03-12 00:17:17 +0000 UTCI wish every kid in the world could have a piano... I wish every kid in the world to be safe, fed, loved, cared for and educated. We need math to survive and make better decisions and maximize utilitarian outcomes. We need pianos to live. World is cruel, unfair and arbitrary at best. We humans are no better. There's no way to justify or acquit our moral failings. We can only try to do better. But sometimes we wake up in bed, in a clean room with electricity and running water, fed, safe, taken care of and don't think back on those generations, that worked for us to have that day. And other times a stranger gets us a piano.
