The condensed version

Hello! Here's a linky-dink

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hAuKtoRxJI

I'm gonna be working on captions right now for this. And tomorrow will be release day for both versions. You'll notice I rearranged things a lot in this version - didn't want to bury the lede as I'm so prone to do and decided to talk about the experimental results before the manual J calculation.

Just wish I had this before the 2 furnaces we've installed over last 18 years. We have 60,000 BTU in Minnesota, and when it's really cold it still doesn't run that much. Right now it's warmer so barely at all. We even were told not to set the thermostat to 62 because it was getting a build up of moisture where moisture is bad inside the furnace. Our most recent one was 2019 so air pumps where not ready yet in MN.

It's not necessarily too late, but I want to release these as they are. Mainly because I am genuinely curious about how this will go: I know that the cantankerous parts of my personality are off-putting to some, but others like it. Also, I went into much more detail on the main video which I think is valuable to know - and I don't want to have the "cliffsnotes" version on the main channel - but it's not strictly necessary to get the point. Additionally, I went back and forth on whether it made more sense to show Manual J or the experiment first - and with this, I don't necessarily have to make a choice! The only hesitation that I have now is whether people will be annoyed by the two versions floating around in sub boxes or home feeds, but hopefully my references to the other version in both of them upfront stave that off and allow people to make the choice.

This is a much more persuasive video than the hour long version. It’s probably too late, but I’d encourage releasing this 30 minute video on the main channel, and the 60 minute version on the second channel. Either way, this 30 minute version is what I’d suggest people share with these dubious about right sized heat pumps. Ewen
