Everything remotely worth viewing of the lava lamp experiments

You asked for it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDaKDF7c67E

Wait, did you? Actually, now that I think about it, you didn't. Well, here it is anyway!

And to think I thought this would work as an unscripted segment.

Yes, well, that didn't exactly work out. But, hours of footage were recorded, and here is the fruit of the first editing pass. This is very long. It's probably quite boring. But, hey, who am I to know what you'll like? Maybe you'll enjoy the mix of anecdote and repeated failure.

For those who may wish to see a more condensed version of this, I'll be making a highlight reel at some point that will go on Connextras publicly. But if you just can't wait to see all the mishaps, and I mean *all* the mishaps, please enjoy!

As someone said above, old technology connections videos are a nice comforting distraction when I'm trying to go to sleep. I mean that in the nicest possible way. I also go back sometimes and rewatch while actually paying attention.

I want to change all of my computer's "loading" animations to the time lapse of Alec's face intensely watching the yellow lava lamp.

Wow, Alec, you need to undergo 'SHARPS' training! That needle wielding is making me CRINGE! https://www.cdc.gov/nora/councils/hcsa/stopsticks/default.html It's actually strange that they sell full hypodermics online- useful but risky.

Liked this a lot, this was just what I needed wind down my evening.

Loved this, lots of laughs too, thanks for uploading. Very much mirrors my attempts, many many moons ago.

Hi, I'm new here and i was wondering what the correct procedure is for requesting a new video topic. Since you recently did a video on the Lava Lamp, i was hoping you would consider doing a video on it's closely-related cousin, the Glitter Lamp. I actually prefer these to lava lamps, and i would like to learn how they work since i happen to have a small one that has had the fluid drained from it which i have been struggling to get working again (i can't seem to find a solution in which the glitter particles remain neutrally buoyant).

While I have not tried to recreate lava lamps from scratch, I have done many refills and refurbishments with these goo kits made by magma tower. https://www.magmatower.com/shop

After watching for about 10 minutes of this, it calls to mind local TV morning shows where they bring someone on set to for some kind of cooking demonstration. "After the break, Alec will be here to show us how to make our own lava lamps at home, so stay tuned for more of 'Good Morning Rantoul' right after this message from our sponsor." (Yes, I know you're not anywhere near Rantoul, but it's a funny-sounding name that I know because I attended USAF training there back in the long ago).

Didn't I ask? I surely meant to, thanks Alec
