Y'all are the best
Added 2019-05-25 00:52:57 +0000 UTCI knew I needed to write that out...
You've convinced me to re-organize the video's concept. In fact, now that I think about it, my initial concept would have been quite a boring first video.
I still regret not having more anecdotal experience, but you're right. I'll play off of that.
Thanks for improving my mood!

Superb. Just wanted to make sure.

2019-05-26 05:31:12 +0000 UTCYes I did--and I appreciate it! I've mentally shelved Teletext for the immediate future as I work on the interim video. I'll revisit it soon, and I'll have better thoughts for you at that point.

2019-05-26 05:27:26 +0000 UTCI can at least second the mention of digitiser, Mr Biffo has a youtube channel (digitiser 2000) and it might be wise to chat to him for some behind-the-scenes info about Teletext in the UK, and how it varied from channel to channel. A lot of people have fond memories of teletext but, like you, I was not a user and am often confused by my friends' nostalgia for it. If you are interested in anecdotes, I can direct you to some of my more eloquent friends who would be able to express the shared generational nostalgia in an interesting manner. There is a crossover between BBS and Teletext, so it might be interesting to do a compare and contrast there, especially as they were used similarly for quite some time, also see minitel if you are going down the 'precursor to the web' route.

2019-05-25 17:45:52 +0000 UTCOf course the web version does'n't give the full experience (too fast and no colors).

2019-05-25 17:35:29 +0000 UTCI recently found out that swedens teletext system is the oldest, still functioning system (at least according to Wikipedia) and also that you can access it from the internet. Go to https://www.svt.se/svttext/web/pages/100.html and there you have it, the swedish teletext system, basically the exact same thing as what you can access from the tv.
2019-05-25 15:55:07 +0000 UTCHave learned a lot from your videos, you and Big Clive make my days .

2019-05-25 03:08:37 +0000 UTCYou didn't have anecdotal experience for the Edison video, but I think you're worried about others that do have that knowledge. I think you'll do a better job than you think, as you do a VERY high quality job of investigating your videos. Way higher than most. If you want questions answered, then I'd recommend just talking with someone with experience. Ask them questions to fill the gaps. Skype / Facetime etc... We're happy to help. No question is too dumb.

2019-05-25 03:04:24 +0000 UTCYeah dude, you NOT knowing it and discovering and explaining what you have learned will be entertaining. Most of the audience wont know either so it's like a shared experience.
2019-05-25 02:37:33 +0000 UTCGlad you're feeling better and I hope you enjoyed dinner, precise or not!

2019-05-25 01:36:16 +0000 UTC"exact" moment is more correct. A moment - never to be repeated - is not subject to precision. Hee hee . .. . (Sorry 'bout that; it's one of my pet peeves.)

2019-05-25 01:18:00 +0000 UTCNot to add to the fire but you also may want to check out the French “Minitel.” Not sure if that is where Teletext originated from but it had a very similar purpose and layout. While we are at it...there is also “Filodiffuzione” that was popular in Italy and Switzerland — “cable” radio via telephone lines, 6 channels, AM modulated on long wave frequencies, with the 6th channel in stereo.
2019-05-25 01:11:58 +0000 UTCDude I have complete faith in you to make some of the best videos on YouTube. I’ve found your videos to get me interested in things I never would have thought I would be interested in. You keep doing you.
2019-05-25 01:02:05 +0000 UTCSometimes things don't work out the way you want them to, and that's just how it is. Keep doing things that you like in a way that you enjoy, and I guarantee you'll still have fans (especially myself). It really shows when someone has a passion for something, so if you don't personally have that Connection™ with the Technology™ then I certainly wouldn't judge you for handling it differently or not at all. Thank you for all the excellent content, and keep being you! ❤️
