Seniority Blues - Movie Night (wip)

The small town community of Southpaw buzzed with talk of a new science fiction film premiering at the local theater.
"Hey Cam," Wade nudged his friend with excitement, "are you going to check out this new science fiction movie?"
Cameron, an albino fox with a cool exterior, tilted his head at the idea, his ears perked in curiosity. "Nah... I don’t go to see movies," he replied a hint of hesitation in his voice. "There are a couple of reasons why I don’t."
"Oh..." Wade's expression softened, sensing Cam's unease.
"Sorry! I didn’t mean to put it like that," Cam stammered, ears splaying in embarrassment. "It’s just that I don’t like going alone."
"So, does that mean you’re free to check it out?" Wade asked, a friendly arm draped around Cam's shoulder.
"Like... a da- er, to hang out? Is that something friends do?" Cam's ear flicked about in frustration as he stumbled over his words. Wade's grin softened to a warm smile, understanding Cam's hesitance.
"Hey, don’t worry buddy, I was just asking-" Wade began before Cam interrupted.
"When do you want to see the movie?"
Wade raised an eyebrow, observing Cam's slight fidgeting. "The movie comes out on Thursday, but we can watch it on Friday after class. Sound good?"
"Y-yeah... It’s a bit of a walk, but I know a shortcut we can take."
"Don’t worry," Wade reassured him, "I can borrow my brother’s bike. I can get us there in two shakes."
