Comments

The book is called Korea: The Impossible Country by Daniel Tudor. I finished it today. I thought it was very informative, if a tiny bit dated. I can't speak to the level of accuracy as far as that author's perceptions on some things, given he's not Korean. He did live for a long time in Korea though. However I think the book was a good jumping off point for general knowledge. As for the language, I'm using duolingo, which is pretty nice!

Yes! Welcome back , good to see you in the comment sections again =D Ohh what's the name of the book? I'm also looking into getting myself more acquainted to Korean culture especially the language and the food! Ahh defo see why they remind you of Dr Seuss level food, maybe even Willy Wonka level haaha

I'm back! Playing catch up again! I'm currently listening an audio book about Korean history/culture and yesterday I got to a section about the culture around food. This book came out in like 2012 or so, I think l, but the author talked about how there wasn't really an Art to cuisine in Korea. Presentation wasn't the point of food. And all I could think of were these dishes which kind of remind me of whimsical Seuss level food.
