After watching this I'd still overall give the song to Cole. Not necessarily because he had the better verse but because he wrote his verse for the audience whereas it seems like Daylyt wrote his verse for himself. Nothing wrong with that but if you don't know him personally or his story then without this type of breakdown half of what he's saying means nothing to most people. Glad he did this though

Stevie you and me both need that Lupe Mural breakdown lmao. Glad Daylyt did this, I wish he elaborated more to be honest. I need to listen to Coles verse again

I think it’s because rappers like j cole are more commercial AND lyrical. Like there’s probably rappers out there who have the technical ability to rap with or better then Cole but they don’t have the “it” factor to put them in the mainstream. That’s why I think Cole is able to reach a bigger audience because of his voice, flow, and relatability but he’s still not as big as some other artists because he’s not just in it for making bops.
It’s like when u first reacted to coast contra and said the rest of them were dope but when it got to Eric Jamal he just hits different with his energy which probably had a big part to play in that freestyle going as big as it did.
