Pick The Best One

Just did a reacted to Guilty Conscience 2 and I had to revisit the first one to compare, gotta get it edited but until then, which one is best one

Comments

So GC1 is definitely more....wack vulgar... than GC2 and I love it, but the beat and the story of GC2 got me hooked hard

HDW Gaming

Hard choice, but 2 for representing the return of Shady that we all missed, and for the whole context. But If I didn't know anything and go just for the song, I'd pick GC1

Matheus Gomes

Shock Value & Rawness _ #1 Story & Mater¡al _ #2

Gen¡us Lee Evel

apples/oranges

Thomas Russell Clark

Both different 2 is better / current but doesn’t exit without the first. For its time the first was fresh and is still in my playlist. They’re both 🔥

DGM

I think 2 is the better song musically, technically and lyrically and is so much more pivital to the albumn. The whole concept od TDOSS hinges on GC 2 sticking the landing and em executing his vision for the albumn. GC 1 is dope and still entertaining as fuck but cant touch the depth and thoughtfulness of GC 2

Sw1Ft182

maybe i am a sucker for notalgia but i love the original concept of a 3 situations introduced by a TV/documentary ancor. Also very dope to have Dr. dre and eminem on a track together. 2 is a great internal conflict bu i am going for 1

Gerben Snijder

1 was the result of a day in the studio with Dre. 2 was the result of 25 years of growth and self-reflection. I grew up on 1, and will always love it to death, but I've GOT to give it to 2 after saying what I just said.

Markus Dingus

I love both but I’m gonna have to give it to 2

danielle weeks

I don’t know that’s a hard choice. The first one sounded dark. It was narrated really dark and it was good bars but the second one way more bar heavy I was honestly expecting dark vibes again, but I like the second one as well. I’m gonna have to give it to the first one.

Dalvin Williams

The first is perfect with the whole good and evil aspect of it, hence the guilty conscience. But the new one is special. It reflects the current headspace of em. I thought it was a very important part of the whole album. It provides context to new em fans and much more. For that reason alone, i'm going with GC2.

Vinit Sharma

Same same.... but diiiiiferent

Odysseas Pallioudis

The second one is growing on me. The whole album is. But GC1 is GOATed

alargetire

It might be recency bias but GC2 just hits different for me.

MOB12

Guilty conscience 2 I actually think is one of his best songs ever made it's just so creative and dope

John Rodgers

We gotta remember what the original was when it came out. It was revolutionary.

Cory Seronick

i like both but honestly i habe to give it to the 2nd one

Mason Sy

2 is great but 1 is a classic. Got to be the original for me

Fran Cappiello

Love em both, but 2 is insane .

Charmcitykitty

Such a tough one! Hard to be objective - you can easily fall prey to nostalgia or recency bias. You gotta respect the OG - Slim and Dre battling over the fates of three poor, unfortunate souls. But I think I have to go with Guilty Conscience 2. The introspective, meta nature of it is so damn compelling. But then you still get the nostalgia factor with the diabolical nature of Slim, and that amazing audio callback to “My Darling” with the melding of Slim and Marshall’s voices. *Chef’s kiss*

jdkilpatrick2000

Nostalgia tells me the first, but I think I honestly prefer the second. Very different songs and concepts both executed incredibly well, but idk the back n forth between Slim vs Em is insane, the introspection and that beat is fucking DIABOLICAL. SO good.

Brandon

I have watched every possible reaction I can find to gc2 just to see people's faces when that effect hits his voice when slim is talking about becoming more powerful 🙌 👏 it effects my chest and heart . Not a lot of songs can do that

BodegaBoy_757

Jeeeeez you’ve stirred the pot with this one Stevie lol

KRUMPET'S TEA HOUSE

This is a criminal question 😵‍💫my head finna pop! I will say, When both voices mesh together on my headphones I just cant help to have the MEANEST NASTIEST boo-boo face on ughh 🔥😤

Galactigato

Gc1 is such a classic for his career as slim shady, but this gc2 is such a good closing the chapter on slim shady, that as a song and what it stands for, I'd say GC2 is the better song. The only reason I'd choose GC1 would be the nostalgic factor and that it's such a classic and the impact it had in the time it dropped.

Isha Evers

1 only because I don't want Slim to die. But if the reverse theory is true, then 2 is better

John Vincent Pilinovics

I mean recency bias is definitely a factor here but imo there are VERY few records that compare to guilty conscience 1. So the fact that the sequel isn't as good imo is NOT a diss, cuz guilty conscience 2 is fucking amazing. Had goosebumps during parts. Yeah you can argue the lyricism is definitely better on this new one, but idk man... The first one just has magic to it that not a lot of tracks have. And the originals beat is fucking A-tier. Idk... Just an opinion from some guy with an anime profile pic so don't get too mad lol

Tacosareneat

Yeah the vibe between 1 and 2 r so different but I’d pick 2 any day

Aidan Houston

I was just taking a shit while listening to it, crazy word and rhyme choices throughout, never heard quagmire used other than a name🤷‍♂️ crazy shock factor punchlines too like the “retarded people don’t fuckin know they’re retarded” one, also the “that’s diamond sales like sapphires” fire in the rhyme scheme

Aidan Houston

Voted for GC2. GC1 is definitely classic Slim but how he was able to basically write an argument - fight scene between Em and Slim was just godly. Also “I think they’ve had it up to hear with me too” is easily in my top moments for when Em has made me burst out laughing during a song

Kyle Sherman

Might be recency bias but I prefer to listen to GC2 over GC. Song goes hard

Rick Martinez

I’ve been waiting for your reaction to this song
