2024-07-19 19:13:40 +0000 UTCIt honestly makes so much more sense in reverse, and there are several songs and skits that transition perfectly into the song that came before them (e.g. Ken Kaniff skit has wet footprints that lead into Tobey, and Bizarre's 'you wanna dance with the devil' that leads in to Lucifer), and then that final line in Renaissance about not getting your flowers until your funeral, with the sudden cut, finishes the album. It's incredible.

While yes, you can make a story of Marshall battling with and eventually laying Slim to rest by listening in order beginning with the first track, it all seems a bit muddy to me. Particularly, something feels off with the skits and with the placement of “Temporary.” The story seems soooo much more cohesive listening from the end to the beginning, particularly with “Temporary” and with how the skits act as transitions. I’m not getting how so many people are saying that’s a reach? Em’s a diabolical genius. 🤯😂 He’s pays incredible attention to detail and has been incredibly intentional as an artist. The clues/hints and teasing that he’s done with TDOSS project has been off the charts - arguably beginning with the Super Bowl Halftime Show promo a few years ago where he was battling himself. I think the album art and “Houdini” song and music video are key. It’s been well-established that Houdini died at the age of 52, in Detroit, in the month of October, and that Em turns 52 this October. Why didn’t Em release “Houdini,” then TDOSS in October? Of particular note, Houdini died on October 31st. Halloween. Trick or treat. “Abracadabra. And for my last trick, I’m ‘bout to reach in my bag, bruh.” (Think Halloween trick or treat bag, versus having a bag of tricks.) And “What you think you saw ain’t what you saw.” He’s literally been telling us this whole time that he’s messing with us. 😂 I am highly suspicious that Em will drop another project on October 31st - likely either a TDOSS Side B or SSLP 2. Probably with a lot of the features we’d been anticipating based on the “Houdini” video - Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop, Royce, Boogie. And regarding the clue from the album art - the title is written in the Slim Shady font, as if he wrote/created it. But how could he have written that title out, announcing his death, if he’s dead? 🤔

So I don't think there's an impact on his ability at all! I also think we'll be seeing a side B, potentially SSLP2, but who knows.

If it wasn’t Marshall I wouldn’t think twice about it but there are so many alarms in the album (signifying an altered / dream state) and the way GC2 ends can be taken two different ways. What gets me the most is the song transitions working so well (some better) in reverse. Take the guess who’s back skit for example. It ends with an emphasis on his foot steps and the next track (if played backwards) is Tobey which starts an emphasis on Marshall’s foot steps. It may not be intended for forward and backward but the nuances lead me to believe there is definitely more here. The missing “confirmed” features also furthers my belief there is another side coming unless they were all dropped for some reason. Just my opinion of course.
