I agree while it always hits me a little harder seeing his older videos when you feel his pain and seeing him struggle, but that's what to me makes him so unique and raw how he can be so transparent about his struggle in real time to not only help himself as an outlet but to help other people, I love his heart. I'm so glad he and Nova found eachother I think it was supposed to happen so they can truly effect change in this world. #HOG ❤️

I feel like that song is so underrated lol. It's one of my favorites because it really was the turning point for him. Him and Nova had just gotten together, he was starting to get a shit together after the mental breakdown. And it's what led into deer rappers. It's one of my favorites for sure!

One of my favorite Tom songs. Even way back before he went viral, he had a song called "Who I Am" which is also one of my favorites. In it, he describes what he wants to do with his music and he says he doesn't want to be tied to a label, wants to rap about what's important to him with a sprinkling of politics, and he just wants to be himself, no apologies. I know you hated White Boy, but This House, his response to the hate he got from that song, is one of my favorites lyrically and production-wise. The bar "Trying to judge your engine by your paint job" hits so hard for a lot of fans. Not just on judging people on their skin color, but also seeing Tom's tatts and braids and dismissing him without hearing any of his lyrics. Tom just got a Billboard #1 as a Rap Producer, which I was happy to hear because I don't think he gets enough credit for producing all his own music and Nova's songs, too.

Hangman was the song he made during his evolution into music that really mattered....It was right before Dear Rappers.

Tom was sitting in his place in South Central LA (crenshaw) with Nova. A rapper came on the radio singing about how hard it was too be famous. At this time Tom and Nova were having to run an extension cord to their neighbors garage when their lights got cut off because they couldn't afford to pay rent, buy food, AND keep the lights on...so it pissed him ALL the way off. He grabbed his phone, the last half a cigarette he had out of his empty pack, went and sit on the front steps of his place...and wrote Dear Rappers.

You would probably like Boom Bap 101, it's only on Facebook not on YT. It's tough.
Also, there's a new Ren song out that you might want to check out. It's Ren singing, not rapping, but it's top tier.
