Hi guys, Austin here.
Sorry for such a long delay. We've been hard at work on mostly invisible improvements/reworks which makes it hard to find something worth doing a Patreon post about. The dinosaur AI and pathfinding system has needed a complete rework which has eaten a lot of time but will be far more reliable down the road. Turns out there may be a reason why you don't see more games using dinosaurs as their only enemy, ha.
Anyways, the video above shows off a new WIP feature we recently implemented that allows practically any static object to react to the player and even dinosaurs. Objects can wobble/shake upon being struck and will even cause the objects on top of them to react as well. This is great for being shot by the player or landed on by something like a raptor. It's a small feature but one that with more work will hopefully make the world feel more dynamic and interactive in a way that remains faithful to the PSX aesthetic.
In addition, we have worked more on what is referred to internally as the "Overgrown Research" area. It's still mostly in the blockout phase as we focus on the dinosaurs and thus is devoid of many props/final assets but it still an interesting look into the future of that area. Keep in mind, everything pictured is a heavy work in progress.

We thank you again for your contributions and will try to have more consistent updates in the future. Leave a comment here or on Discord on what kind of content you'd like to see covered in future posts. Technical breakdowns, sneak peeks of new stuff, or something else entirely?
