August Patreon Update

Been a while since I've actually done one of these.

The Patreon is still on break and nobody (should) be getting charged until the end of the month.

There should be a fair bit of content going up in September. The Spellblade commentary pieces should be finished within the next two weeks (and I've also added a collection on Patreon of all book commentaries for those who need help finding them). Mob Sorcery 3 chapters should start next weekend (I anticipate). I might even write a post-series piece for Spellblade, but don't hold your breath for that in September as I might get into Mob and decide to put Spellblade content on hold for a bit.

I said I was going to make some Patreon changes, but I'm not really sure what, to be honest. I don't think much will change in terms of what I'm actually doing, so I should probably just neaten up some of the page details and maybe add the Discord invite https://discord.gg/s8JwgUwykm.

To a significant extent, I'm probably going to continue as I am mostly on inertia, at least until I wrap up more of my current series. I'll see where I'm at next year once at least Neural Wraith or Demon's Throne is finished, as I think taking on any new series is just a bad idea.

My current plans for the rest of the year are roughly:

• Write Mob Sorcery until the end of the Yakuza arc, which is likely to encompass 2 books

• Return to either Demon's Throne or Neural Wraith, depending on my mood at the time and which I think I can get done fastest

• Write the other series (i.e. if I wrote Demon's Throne 4, I'll then write Neural Wraith 4)... or maybe I'll work on more Mob. It might be 2025 by this point, so who knows.

• Keep rotating between series.

I experimented with writing methods and I think rotating between series is smartest, although I do want to maintain momentum with Mob Sorcery whenever I have it as I can likely build up an extra book or so every so often and make my publishing schedule less hairy. For algorithmic reasons, I think it's a good idea to avoid publishing two books of the same series back-to-back.

In mundane news, Spellblade 7 audio is out on Sep 24th. I just got the MP3s, but haven't listened to them in full as the audiobook is nearly 26 hours long. Steph absolutely nailed Lily, though. I'm very interested in hearing Spellblade 8 once it's done, although I know it'll be several more weeks. Having an entire series completed in audio format will be a milestone for me.

I'm also going to try to experiment a bit with some audience involvement in some Mob Sorcery decisions, like with the Juliet poll. So feedback, ideas etc are appreciated.
