July Patreon Update

Once Spellblade 8 is out, I'll be suspending payments for the Patreon for a month. This makes up for the missed month in April that I should have suspended for.
More importantly, I'm taking August off to recover from burnout and hopefully feel like writing something other than just Mob Sorcery for the foreseeable future.
If I say much more then I'll probably regret it, as I'm incredibly tired. Ending Heretic Spellblade has felt like a lot of effort for no real reward and a lot of people who have shrugged at it because they expected something else. I don't know what people wanted, but it clearly wasn't epic fantasy or the ending I gave Spellblade 7, apparently.

I love your stories. Take the harem out and they would still be excellent. I hope that you can find the right way forward for you. I think Heretical Spellblade just kept getting better each book. I have read each book but 7 multiple times and I’m sure I will read it many times as well. I think the are very good even after multiple times through.

I am one of those looking forward to another demon throne But I want you to get to it when you are ready too. I want the quality we as your reads expect of you. A lot of the other authors also don’t do 8 book series with intricate plots and lots of characters with their own development. P.S By the way my yearly patreon Just renewed and I support you doing this at the pace you give us your best stories. Also I would read/listen a mono romance or slow burn. A lot of the other authors are dabbling with mono romances. It’s the quality of the story.

If your future works still have your talent in characterization, Ill read if there is only one dedicated relationship. I'll even check it out if there is none relationship lol.

Patreon has been sliding all year while working on the series, and I've stopped commentary outright because if I say anything then people get mad and unpledge (like a bunch just did due to this post). I've spent most of the year being bombarded by people asking when I'm working on other series, making monthly updates and the schedule completely pointless. Spellblade 7 also has a much lower reviews-to-sales ratio than most of my books, (significantly so compared to Book 6), which makes me think a lot of people either aren't finishing it or are choosing not to review rather than give a bad score. This is an incredibly tiring year and relying on a falling Patreon while people whine that I'm not working on whatever series they prefer (which then sells poorly) makes it difficult to see any future in harem, and makes me regret starting Mob instead of moving on last year.

It’s always the few that have the loudest mics, but I’m sure the majority like myself stand behind you. Thank you for giving us this series. Excited to read anything and everything you create. Mob Sorcery is always wonderful and I'm sure anything else you release will be too. I thought the end of Spellblade 7 was fantastic. You really can't account for poor taste and those who refuse to be pleased by anything. Can't wait for book 8 as sad as I am to see the series end, it seems like a worthy ending is in the making. Just want to say thank you for finishing this series. I have all your books but get having to walk away from items shot at are not selling. That said, I have several series that are not done, and it is really annoying to not get that ending. So thank you again. Ignore those who are complaining, as you can’t please everyone, but you’ve made lot of people happy.

Don't despair, there are few series releases I look forward to as I do Heretic Spellblade. I like that it has an ending, but I'm sad as well. Keep your spirits up. You are one of 3 authors whom I immediately buy whatever they sell!

Because of how big a step this was, I feel bad because I want to do more, but I believe that once the series is done, it will be a burden off your shoulders. By that point you'll have a large complete series to draw people in over time. I believe in you!

Granted, while I have been buying the Spellblade books as they come out, I don't think I've yet read past 5 or 6 yet, as I'm planning to do a full re-read of the series when it is completed. That said, Amazon reviews of 7 are outstanding with an average score of 4.8. It honestly can't get much better than that, given that there are trolls that will give 1s to anything published.
