Mob Sorcery - Nicki Cover Art
Added 2024-06-16 12:06:30 +0000 UTCAnother piece of Mob Sorcery cover art is ready. This time featuring Nicki, the (decreasingly) cantankerous harpy.
I was a bit nervous getting this one done, as harem audiences have fairly vanilla tastes and cover art is a pretty basic marketing exercise (hence the proliferation of incredibly bland and samey AI art that could probably be used to create a haremlit version of the Clash of Clans app icon ripoff memes). I asked my artist to do a human and birdgirl version, and I'd be able to decide later which I'd publish.
Because everybody got confused by this whenever I posted progress pics to Discord: this cover represents Nicki either under an illusion or with a modified body, as it's at a point in the story where she'll be doing that almost all the time. Hence her tits are bigger than described in-story and she can have a "human" form without the talons.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts on the cover and whether you prefer the human legs or taloned legs. It'll be a while before this cover is used, although I'll likely have enough that I can decide why ones actually become which covers as I write the books (as I have Ally, Nicki, and Alessia now).
Fia will be the next cover girl, as she deserves one.

Her use of the illusion to have bigger tits and change her feather colors and so on is her insecurity and the taloned legs feel like the balance to that. She's still a harpy regardless of what illusion she wears. And V doesn't mind them if I remember correctly

2024-06-16 22:42:24 +0000 UTCBook 1 art is the only one that really matters as far as catching the public's attention. If a reader likes Book 1 they'll read the rest regardless of the art. You should give readers lore accurate representations of the characters for later books.
