Lowlife Enforcer - Poll Aftermath

Thanks to everyone for voting in the poll. It's still open, but the results are pretty decisive right now and have given my a few things to chew on. I also really enjoyed reading the comments, which varied quite a bit and proposed some ideas (some of which are already in the story, or close enough).

The big one is that Nina wins, obviously. I tried not to reveal who I had chosen in the story as the first girl, but it was Nina (with something to push her into being more than just jealous and possessive). So I don't need to change that element.

What is interesting are the other poll results. I'm not going to read much into the Alessia result, as a lot of people were voting for who Vince became involved with first, and she was never a realistic proposition.

But Fia is popular, and I'll need to poke at Pola's and Nicki's past scenes. Falling below Ally, who has one scene and mostly succeeds by being fluffy, is not a great situation.

For Pola, I'm not sure I'll do anything immediately, other than maybe slide in more of a reminder in earlier scenes that she is interested in Vince (even if she's very antagonistic). This is because she has some more "positive" antics later, and her being perceived negatively might help there. I'll probably ask your thoughts again about her when that happens, which is Ch23.

A few people seemed to pick up on Nicki's awkward vibes, but I also noted somebody called her boring in an earlier post. I suspect Ch19 might polarize everyone further on her. My perspective on Nicki is that she needs time to settle in with Vince's situation, given where she's at in life, but I'm wary of people getting tired of her as she'll be around him quite a bit (as his flying chauffeur).

I don't think Fia needs any adjustment. It was interesting to see some of the comments about her. She's loaded herself down with a ton of problems and vices, and they're very much of her own choosing. I'm still sorting out who comes after Nina, but I might bring Fia's relationship forward.

As a sidenote, the poll itself ran the risk of being a double-edged sword, but worked out. I'm well ahead on the chapters, so if I was wrong then it would have created a bunch of editing work. But learning more about how you view the characters helps a lot as well. I'm in the characters heads and have my own trope preferences, so it's easy to view them differently (e.g. Pola's antics).

Part of the reason I wanted to do a poll is that I was initially undecided between Nina and Pola. The original plan (which I've changed since) was to have Pola be very aggressive and Vince goes along with it while riding the high of a recent victory. Nina would then pounce afterward as she's forced to act. But I felt that Pola needed more development, even if Vince is good at making bad or questionable decisions.

I'll see if I can find some other ways to do polls to let you have some involvement in the story or at least influence them in some way. Not everything in the story has to be fixed in stone or is that influential on the main story that I can't adjust it.
