Big announcement: Coming changes

Hello everyone!

I would like to talk to you all about some changes I’ve decided to make.

Here’s a summary, but you may read all the way to the end for details:

• I’m going to be focusing strongly on the two comics I’m working on (ICFOS+SMQ+!) which will have early access here before anywhere else!
• The main content here will be the pages, and the drawings I get a chance to do in-between (including commissions).
• I will be posting what I work on each week. My plan is to release one or two comic pages a week (of which I have a buffer!) Some weeks, there will only be other art or backstage work, and on some weeks if there’s no extra art (for one reason or another) I will definitely let you know the going-ons, including the rough weeks– the ones that do happen to all of us - as I’m all for sharing the tips and learning experiences of working through (and avoiding) some chronic pains that may come with the trade! You’ll be with me on my art journey, the ups and downs!
• I will be phasing out “monthly packs” [so from now on, there will be no monthly pack sendout. Existing old packs and old comics (ICFOS 1 and 2) will still be available!] But I do think I will accumulate my posts somehow: that will be the replacement of it! I still don’t have a backlog for this new system, but that will be a benefit down the line!

A bit of backdrop

For the last couple of years, there’s been a lot going on. Good and bad! The good is that I have been making progress on some projects I’m very excited to share with you all soon (more on that further down this post). The bad is that I’ve also had my health put to the test, down to some hospital visits since 2020, and have been faced with the fact that I have to make some changes in my pace in order to stay healthy. (The long and short is, in March 2020, I was sent to the hospital on suspicion of a heart attack-- thankfully that wasn’t it, but it seemed stress and overwork had taken their toll and gotten me close enough for the doctors to direct me to the ER. And I’ve sadly developed chronic back pains for a variety of reasons, work-related and otherwise. The long and short: these make it very difficult to draw as I used to, since I cannot sit for that long.)

So, I was very concerned that I was letting you guys down. I could feel my tempo dwindle: both because I had to slow down, and because a lot of the work I’ve been doing had to be done backstage.

I constantly pushed the wrinkle: told myself that sooner or later I would be able to either balance my new goals and health concerns and I would be “back on top of things”, returning to being as productive as I was back in 2020, and thus, no changes or announcements would be needed. It took me a very long time to accept that time would not come: that I couldn’t accomplish the things I want to do, stay healthy, and go back to the way things were. I’d lapse on sending monthly packs, or start pictures and not have the stamina to finish them, while starting newer ones, frantically trying to make up for past failings with some new idea.

So, this is it.

The changes and my plans

I love sharing my art with you. And I will continue to do so, that much won’t change changed.

Over the last couple of months, I’ve been working on two big comic projects: Super Monster Quest+ and ICFOS4 (as well as planning the subsequent chapters.) I’m very exciting to share those stories with everyone!

But, I will be changing some of the benefits here on Patreon. To reiterate what I said on the top of this post:

Some weeks, there will only be backstage work, and some weeks there might be nothing to show, but I will still post: I’ll tell you guys about making art during a rough week– yes, I am all for telling you how to take care of yourselves as SFW or NSFW artists and how to either avoid or manage chronic pains and things like that! You’ll be with me on my art journey, the ups and downs!
