Apple Tax of +30% Coming to Patreon Nov 1, 2024!

Just a friendly reminder if you are new to Patreon and use the Apple iOS App to support your creators starting Nov 1, 2024 you will pay a +30% Apple Tax added to the base cost of the membership fee you pay. If you use Android OS disregard this notice!

Please sign up via the Patreon website (use a web browser) VS signing up via the iOS Apple app because Apple will charge you a +30% app fee on top of your monthly membership fee for each creator. You can still use the Patreon app to view / access the content you paid for but the monthly billing should be setup via Patreon website to avoid the 30% Apple tax starting Nov 1st!

From Patreon: Apple is requiring Patreon to use their in-app purchase system and remove all other billing systems from the Patreon iOS app by November 2024. Beginning in November 2024 NEW memberships purchased in the iOS app will be subject to Apple’s 30% App Store fee. Apple’s in-app purchase system only supports our subscription billing model.
