Now onto the not fun stuff:
With everything happening with the Visa/Mastercard and NSFW work becoming more inaccessible, I want to let everyone here know that I have a subscribstar account. I haven't done anything with it just yet, and was planning on using it as an alternative to patreon for people that have issues with this platform anyway.
Now I think it's more likely that Patreon will follow in Steam and Itch's lead and be harsher on content here in the near future. I hope it's not the case, but if that does happen, I'll be fully migrating to my subscribestar page-

All of this kills my plans to release old comics and sequences on Itch.io at the very minimum and the release of my NSFW TF visual novel even more rocky. I don't plan on stopping in any case. I'll figure out a way to make it work!

I hope that's how everything works out. It's unsettling to me at the very least, since my work isn't any of those things, but "torturing women" is a broad term to try to hold content to. And this Collective Shout group has come for games like Beyond Human: Detroit, which, as a game, is a statement against all the things they claim to have an issue with. Groups like this, that see things as solely black and white, should not be able to have any kind of say in what content can or can't be bought. I worry the logical outcome is not what we are coming to.

2025-07-29 04:25:15 +0000 UTCFrom what I understand the censorship is mainly aimed at material involving incest and non-con, and Itch's delisting of all adult games is a temporary measure while they do an audit. Still not a great situation, but maybe not as bad as it seems.

It's just hard to say what will happen at this point and all of the things that shouldn't happen... keep on happening. And yeah, hearing about how things have been going on with steam and itchio on their policies with NSFW content caused by pressure from the cc companies and a certain group, its quite sad to see things go the way it did. Subscribestar is a good option, although... it requires a credit card for access unlike patreon with paypal so it will limit certain users. I suppose that's one reason some nsfw Japanese websites are banning visa mastercard access and instead opt to use their own bank card services and 3rd party credit token websites to perform transactions. I hope things will take a turn for the better as new solutions appear.
