Extra History Topic Suggestions are OPEN until 12/26!

Hello Historians, our next Extra History theme is Explorers and Pioneers!

Maybe it's the promise of a new year with new horizons, or the release of Moana 2, but we've got explorers on the brain! From the fascinating but highly gnarly story of Francis Drake, to the incredible endurance of Shackleton, to the mysterious disappearance of Amelia Earhart (which is actually the least interesting thing about her) we're telling the stories of those who blazed trails and reached beyond. For this series, we're not limiting ourselves strictly with the "explorer" label. For example, figures like Nellie Bly and her attempt to go around the world in eighty days would count. So send us your best explorers, travelers and expeditions!

I might be stretching the definition of "explorer" here, but I submitted the exploration and conquest of Siberia by Russia. I could see some similarities to the "Exploring the Pacific" series and maybe some contrast with the US's westward expansion.

I would really like to see story of Czechoslovak legions in Russia {1917 - 1920} - it's not only about exploration of the best road to home (by rail in Siberia), but also about hardship on the road in a war-torn country, but also about bravery to get through no matter what through wilderness.

I just submitted the Lewis and Clark Expedition
