House of Death: The Collyer Brothers | US History

Step into the strange and ultimately haunting world of Homer and Langley Collyer, New York's most infamous recluses. Born into wealth and privilege, the Collyer brothers withdrew from society, retreating into their house in Harlem filled with thousands of books, grand pianos, booby traps, and everything Langley could scavenge. Their bizarre lifestyle turned them into legends, but their story is also a cautionary tale about isolation, obsession, and the unintended consequences of shutting out the world.

Man something feels like there is a lesson that desperately needs to be learned in this day and age from this story of xenophobia leading to isolation and ultimately a fearful terrible end! Ah well I'm sure it's nothing! /s

This is the perfect follow up to the Nazi Occultism series: showing a smaller scale example of how distrust of the outside world and thinking oneself better than others spirals into tragedy. On a lighter note, I have now added “Of course he knew better! He was the son of a gynecologist!” to my personal lexicon.

Isolationism. Doesn't. Work. Just accept my word on this. On a personal note, I played War Thunder and World Of Warships for the first time in my life this week; personally, I think War Thunder's probably more my sort of thing, but that's probably just due to my personal taste.
