Nazi Occultism 1: The Thule Society | European History

Have you ever heard that the Nazis were obsessed with the occult? Thanks to pop culture icons like Indiana Jones and Hellboy, many of us grew up with that idea. While it may seem like a Hollywood exaggeration, recent historical research reveals a deeper truth—Nazi ideology was steeped in supernatural beliefs and pseudoscience. These fringe ideas and theories of Aryan origins influenced their policies and fueled their violent worldview creating dangerous beliefs in the Third Reich that played a critical role in shaping history.

Did we get something wrong in our "Nazi Occultism" series? Is there a particular character you want to hear more about? Feel free to ask our Extra History writer Rob HERE and get a shout-out in our Extra History Lies Episode!

Hold on. Why do you say Hitler was an Atheist? He shut down the German Freethinker's Society because it was blaspheming God and told everyone his movement was Christian. You also have all the time he referenced God in his speeches and that he used Martin Luther's laws as a basis for some of his own. Being an Atheist means rejecting the supernatural, including Thule.

Remember to please put your sources in the description!!!

The Nazis and organisations like them should serve as a warning from history to both the current and to future generations as to what happens when a people blindly put their trust in a political strongman rather than following their own instincts. P.S: I hope Rob and Matt managed to free themselves after being tied to that pole. The Ordo Extra Historia looks after its members, right?

Atun-Shei's video on this topic is also pretty good!
