Hello Historians, our next Extra History theme is The Amercian Revolution!
Did you know we’ve never done an American Revolution series? The closest we’ve come is the Articles of Confederation series, and that was six years and 300 episodes ago. So this month we’ll be voting on Revolutionary War topics, whether that’s the Sons of Liberty, the British capture of New York, or the “Swamp Fox” Francis Marion, a legendary guerilla leader whose reputation has evolved significantly given his slaveholding and operations against the Cherokee. Note that though this is an American Revolution series, it doesn’t have to be about an American—so if you’re dying to know about Lafayette, Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, or Lord Cornwallis, please throw them in the hat (which is a tricorn, naturally).
You can enter YOUR suggestions for the topic HERE in this form.

Some notes about suggestions:
- Suggestions should feature content before the 1930s
- If a suggestion we encounter only has enough research material/production scope for a one-off episode instead of a full series, we file it in a separate list to reference later when we are planning to schedule a one-off episode between series (this is true for every survey we do).
- Only one suggestion per person, please! Multiple suggestions from the same person during any given survey period will be manually removed. Extra History Suggestion Survey is OPEN until 1/15.
We can't wait to read all your suggested topics!
So many good suggestions! Thank you so much for the help everyone!

I suggested Tadeusz Kościuszko as a one off episode for a previous suggestion for Revolutionaries given his involvement in the American Revolution and his failed attempt to liberate his homeland. Given this topic, I wanted to suggest doing individual episodes about those like Kościuszko who aren't as well known but along side the well known like Marquis de Lafayette and Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben.
Here are some other names: Kazimierz Pułaski (Casimir Pulaski), Michael Kovats de Fabriczy

I suggest Benedict Arnold, as despite being a traitor hated by both sides he was important and very influential for both sides

Be sure to include the Hutchinson letters affair and the impact it had on Benjamin Franklin!

Hello! Nice to be here. If I might offer that Henry Knox did some remarkable things as Washington's chief of artillery, and the story of Ticonderoga and Dorchester Heights is one of the great achievements early in the war.

I think the story of John Paul Jones and his acts of piracy during the American Revolution would be worth diving into.

I've always found Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben an interesting figure, so I think it be fun to learn more about him.
