Hello, You Amazing Patreon Members!

Our next Extra History theme is Eastern Europe!

This vote we're heading past the Black Sea, to the Lands of the Volga, to Kyiv, to the Ural Mountains and the banks of the Volga! Our topic is "Eastern Europe," which can mean anything from Russia, to the Czech Republic, to the Byzantine Empire. Remember, we will accept topics up until 1930 now—so if you want to see the Russian Revolution or Civil War, that is in play. However, so are topics like the history of Poland, Ukraine or niche topics like the Jewish flight from Tsarist Russia.

You can enter YOUR suggestions for the topic HERE in this form.

The event has been referenced so many times that I'm surprised it hasn't gotten a series yet

You had me at Wallachian.

Malachi Phoniex

I suggested the Wallachian Revolution of 1848.

That's actually a great idea, because it intertwine even more countires / interests and it's pity this part of the history is not often mentioned. Just examples: - Frech / english navy interventions in Odesa and Baltics - Polar bear expedition (US) - Japan in Japan's intervention in Siberia - Czechoslovak legions were part of the plan too (despite allied command wasn't able to 'keep them to stay' etc. All as part of plan 'keep russian in war / help to separated Whites against red'. Sounds great, thanks for idea @RedSentry :)

Kapis

Do a video about the Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War! Seriously, most people argue that the Cold War began with the Truman Doctrine. But I would argue that it was going on way before. Amazing how we never learn about the US intervening with the Soviets from even their revolutionary days.

RedSentry

Insteresting, hmm .. what about Czechoslovak legions in Russia - WW1 and at time of the Russian revolution? ( so 1914 or later until ~1920), when last of them returned home? Just idea of multilayer story - because their fight there starts from Russian army's front, taking part in Brusilov's offensive, after separate peace from Ukraine as german protectorate in WW1 and goes through all the Siberia to Vladivostok (as port to home via sea route). This would cover a lot of territory of the eastern Europe, together with Czech republic (in form of it's predecessor Czechoslovakia), which you also have mentioned :).

Kapis

I think Nestor makhno and the Ukrainian free territorywould be interesting

The Crimean war - how NOT to make a war

I suggested the life of the Romanov's after their exile and up their summary execution.

RedWizzrobe

I went ahead and suggested the Time of Troubles. I know Russia's already gotten a few series, but I've wanted a series on the Time of Troubles since I first became a patron.
