I love this graphic novel and the film - my French teacher in college showed it to my class and it moved me so much more than I was expecting. I’ve introduced the novel to several friends, so many end up keeping the copy I lend them and just sending me a new one 🤣

I've never read it, but I've seen the film version, and it's really stayed with me.

Trouble is, it's most extreme citizens are in charge.

OMG I LOVE this comic! Saw the documentary commentary on this over a year ago. Its such a great mix of delight, sadness, fear, triumph, history, family and culture. Its like having a relative telling you stories of their youth as they lived as normal people during a historical time. Id never thought of recommending it since its a comic (graphic novel?) and if its not obvious, super stoked about seeing your take on it.

I can't believe you're covering this fantastic comic, hoping it'll make more people read it <3. Thank you so much!
