Ooo we will have to take a look at that!

There is another issue you should consider, Chinese censorship. China destroyed kickstarter games intended for US market: https://youtu.be/udtvQgSY68c

You certainly see this with game restocks, availability, and probably most seen with Kickstarter. I'm an avid Kickstarter backer and companies have been set back by years due to this. I can't tell you how many games I'll be waiting on or have had to pay more for due to rising shipping costs. :( Hopefully, the industry can recover in the coming years!

Ah, the problems that 'just in time' caused. This mentality in the business space is rather toxic, as we've seen so far. It only promotes little to no slack and causes immense supply problems when that slack is taken. This is also in addition to the current stockholder environment of 'PROFITS FOR THE PROFIT GOD! CURRENCY (and skulls) FOR THE CURRENCY (and skulls) THRONE!' that has dug in throughout the industries... which led to the 'just in time' mentality. It also doesn't help that automation has been supercharged since the pandemic started, meaning LESS people are in the workforce and getting paychecks. Also, don't trust those unemployment figures, they generally ignore 'structural unemployment' as a whole.

This is a bit of a shock to me, since for the last 3-ish years I’ve been co-hosting board game nights where everyone brings their games, and from what I could tell, the industry was going through a renaissance.
