Suggestion Survey is Open through 2/24!

Our theme for the month of February is Weird & Wonderful

The kooky, the strange, the just plain fun—these are the stories we're looking for. History's most unusual, madcap or even heartwarming tales, so long as they're out of the ordinary. If you want to hear about the (supposedly) immortal Count of St. Germain, tulip mania, the odd but revolutionary life of surgical pioneer Dr. John Hunter, alchemy, Spiritualism, or you wanted a second crack at the False Dimitris... this is the time!

An important note! Normally we only suggest one suggestion per patron, but last month I made a mistake and did not include one of the retired patron tiers for the suggestion survey. So to make up for it, everyone can suggest two topics for the category. Makes this month even more weird and wonderful!

Some notes about suggestions:

Comments

I signed up too late to suggest, so perhaps next month. I would love to learn about the Mexican Revolution

Adil N

What about the Cadaver Synod or the Saeculum obscurum? Both were pretty nuts.

Christopher Paulos

I suggest the topic of "Russo-Japanese War of 1904" to explain where the phrase "The Short Victorious War" came from. And why the idea of a short victorious war is bad.

Anton T

I wish we did a video on General Patton the man legacy is such an interesting thing

AnimeInspector

Would love to hear more about the Mayan Civilization (pre-Spanish arrival).

RJ Kennedy

The long journey of Oliver Cromwell's head (more of a one-off, no pun intended).

Mike Curtis

Ra Ra Rasputin "lover of the Russian Queen" or the inner politics of the french revolution Both should weird and crazy enough for this topic and will have enough for 5 episodes easily :-)

Nimrod

Nikola Tesla, the archetype real life mad scientist -OR- finally getting that real video on Rasputin

The Rogue Chief

Not sure what my second suggestion will be, but my first suggestion was Emperor Norton, though I suspect he's best-suited to a one-off.

General Luigi

Oops thanks for the correction David

DeepDiveViolet

The men's marathon event of the Summer Olympics of 1904

Chidumebi Njoku-Browne

Topic for a one-off episode: Maurice Wilson and his ill-fated attempt to reach the summit of Everest (His story begins before 1929, but the climax happens in 1933-1934).

Mackreth Reinhold

Extra Sci-Fi already covered this pretty extensively https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhyKYa0YJ_5AuEhpcGAo4ngmSDKuFgZZx

David Chuhay

The Tale of Genji also called the Genji Monogatari the Standing Death of Benkei

Tyler

You should do Deng Ai’s Detour to capture the Shu Capital of Chengdu during the fall of shu in the three kingdoms time period

Kyle Wooldridge

My Extra Credits History Suggestion: Mary Shelley and Frankenstein
