Whew, no tie this time. Though it looked like it might have been another Baron & Cleopatra situation, eventually the Samurai just managed to slip by the Thirty Years War by 6 votes.

Thank you for voting!

Current Schedule: Third Century Crisis -> Cleopatra -> The End of the Samurai

Oh you're covering Cleopatra? I'm excited!

Kat Motif

I will check that out, thank you!

Foxdoc

For those who voted for the Thirty Year’s War, Kings & Generals is running a series on that conflict now. They mostly cover the military side of things, not the political or religious aspects, but their work is fantastic.

David Blair

Well ~ covered topics have just as much right to be featured on this channel...oh, and one more thing ~ derogatory slang is not tolerated here.

Martin Verran

The chickens are curious as to why their will, which I seem to recall, was that the Aztecs get their well ~ earned series, was disobeyed.

Martin Verran

Personally I wanted to see the Taiping Rebellion, but oh well next time. I look forward to the next series. :)

Herkles

Dude, chill out. I'd have especially liked to see them tackle the Thirty Years War (here we have the bloody, troubled birth of the nation-state and the most complete argument against any violation of the establishment clause so slight as the seemingly innocent term "Christian:" a zealot with access to the power of the purse will quickly come to the conclusion that the other guys aren't included in the definition) but "weeaboo freaks" is a bizarrely intense and personal overreaction. People are fascinated with the samurai and by the Japanese culture for good reason. a shamisen tune over Autumn leaves falling sword finds destiny

It's okay to be disappointed that your preference didn't win, but please respect that a lot of people were obviously excited to see a series on the Meiji Restoration (and we're really excited to write it) Please see our CoC: https://www.extracredits.site/extra-credits-community-code-of-con

Extra History

Something new

Emmanuel Flores

True I chose The war of 1812 and the Aztecs and it didn’t make it but I don’t care As long as their is a new series to learn

Emmanuel Flores

And again, insulting people just because your chosen option didn’t win is not cool.

Foxdoc

I’m aware of Yi’s nationality. The Imjin war was between Korea and Japan.

Foxdoc

Admiral Yi was Korean. There is already so much out there on the Maji Restoration. It doesn't need to be covered by Extra History who I value primarily for their focus on History much overlooked by American and British Historians. There are plenty of other channels out there to pander those weeaboo freaks.

Michael Alan Gordon

Additionally, the last time Extra History did a series focused on Japan was nearly two years ago. And that was the Battle of Saipan series, which was sponsored - the last time a Japan-related series was Patreon-voted was the Admiral Yi series about the Imjin War, FIVE years ago.

Foxdoc

Hey, I’m disappointed too but foul language and insults are entirely unnecessary.

Foxdoc

I'm getting dam bored of these weeaboo pricks ruining things for everyone else.
