The two giants that emerge from WWII, America and the Soviet Union, pour money into researching new ways to get their rockets across oceans. But thanks to a soviet designer named Korolev, that's all about to change. The Chief Designer will be the one responsible for the CCCP's lead into space with a little project called Sputnik. But will the Soviet Union be able to maintain the lead for long?

Having been born in a country that had 'socialist' in its name back then (for like one more year :D) I can tell you guys it's nowhere near as exciting as you might imagine, but I agree that it's always nice to have a different perspective on a subject.

2019-11-30 14:07:28 +0000 UTCWe seriously need a Cold War series from you guys examining both points of view, not just the version given to us in the West by the U.S. An Alternate History series is being broadcast right now about what if the Soviets beat the Americans to the first moon landing in 1969 [not a very plausible premise given the dire state of the USSR's space programme at that time] called "For All Mankind."
