LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL | Extended Episode

LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL | Extended Episode

Comments

Yeah I stuck it out to the end of the video and yeah it just got worse. The facial expressions and nasty comments were just unnecessary. I get that you didn’t like the album and that’s fine everyone has their own opinions I just thought it was too much to be mean. So unfortunately I’m going to unsubscribe which is sad bc I’ve been a fan of your Hannah for a while.

I have to say I’m not a fan of this video at all. It’s coming off as mean girl really bad. Like I get having an opinion but it just felt like the whole time you were making tiny passive aggressive digs at her. Calling ruin the friendship boring is actually crazy because do you her to sing about her dead friend to an upbeat pop song?? Also misunderstanding a lot of the song while google is free and you could have just done a quick little search instead of just assuming things then insulting them 🤷🏼‍♀️ idk I was a big fan but this kinda threw me off really bad.

Sampling is when you use a direct auto clip whereas what Taylor did was interpolation which re-records a recognisable part (melody, lyric) she got permission from George Michael's estate to interpolate the chorus of his song 'Father Figure', also 'Actually Romantic' is just a similar chord progression to a few songs as for wood she has given Jackson 5 credits on the song. Taylor never sued Olivia. Olivia gave Taylor credits after the whole situation with Paramore and 'Good 4 u' Also to say she needs to 'sharpen her pen' is ridiculous considering all of the awards she has won for her songwriting alone including a recent nomination to be inducted in to the songwriters hall of fame next year This album broke streaming records and chart records and its only been out 4 months

I'm not a Swiftie to begin with, but I am familiar with her work and know that she can make a better album than this. Music-wise I don't like it and she heavily sampled from other famous songs too much. She got mad at Olivia Rodrigo for less. Also, she wrote a lot of the songs to where each sentence rhymes, but a good songs don't need every word to rhyme. And the lyrics are a far cry from her best work. "I have been afflicted by a terminal uniqueness" haunts my dreams. Cancelled and AR are some of the most uncomfortable songs I have ever heard. Song topic, lyrics, musically, even how she sings it I don't like. Same with Wood but the topic I don't mind so much, it's just the execution that throws me off. Then you have songs like Honey where the topic is sweet, but the execution is a very boring song. Not to mention that the song topics and even the way she sings them gives Sabrina Carpenter and the overall showgirl aesthetic and photo shoot gives Chappell Roan, but not as well executed. I'll give it 4/10. And those 4 points are for the aesthetics of the album being cool, Sabrina sounding great on LOAS, FoO music video being one of the best she has ever made, and her leaning into the alto side of her voice throughout this album, which is her sweet spot. I think It would've been a good for her creative process to not put out any music for at least 2 years after the tour ended, and focus on just living life and getting married. Maybe even taking an online college English course to sharpen her pen so to speak. Kendrick Lamer does that and he won a Pulitzer prize for his song writing. Plus, I'm generally curious to see how people would perceive Taylers writing when read and analyzed without knowing that it's her.

very much understand the reaction. I was a bit underwhelmed by the album, especially since we know she's much more versatile than this

Joanna

really sad about this reaction but it is what it is kinda wanted more reaction to the actual singing and stuff like that but i hope you have a great day!

All of this was fabulous. Actually Romantic is guessed to be about CharliXcX and also the subreddit r/travisandtaylor who are deeply obsessed with hating her to a wild degree

Natasha

This actually made me laugh soooooo hard 🤣
