Comments

I'm really glad! We all enjoyed making this series and we're glad we finally got to do a piece on South American history.

Extra History

He doesn't get his own episode, but we're gonna see a lot of him this coming week!

Extra History

Does it count as trolling if we knew it was wrong and stamped "l'anachronisme" next to it because that made us laugh? (It would have been "Mon Dieu! L'anachronisme!" but we figured that was laying it on a little thick).

Extra History

We bow before his magnificent sideburns, and can only attempt to give them their due.

Extra History

Really enjoyed the introduction to the character and the outlining of the circumstances leading to bolivar finding his cause. Congratulations

Lambros Efthimiopulos

That's why there's "l'anachronisme" written next to it :P

Antti Björklund

Yep. Tempted to send him the video on twitter to show him how to summarize things. :D

Kyle Clark

Now the question is whether I stop watching this to not spoil the revolutions podcast for myself :o also De Miranda needs his own episode

Michael Waisfeld

Eiffel Tower, really? This is just trolling right.

Jonathan Luoto

Hello from Colombia! I appreciate the effort to draw his long, very prominent sideburns. they are truly a staple of the man.

mazinja

:\

Extra History

I got the French right this time!

Extra History

Darn these historical figures all making me look lazy.

Extra History

All right, every *inhabited* continent, you got us. ;D (Although, who knows, maybe one day we will learn of the great penguin revolution of 1757...)

Extra History

Soon there will be more!

Extra History

We've listened to it, and even told Mike how much we love it! We're not trying to copy or anything, but history does tend to be similar if we're following the same paths. I'd definitely recommend his podcast though to anyone who wants more detail as he is doing a fantastic job with it.

Extra History

Yeah, we thought about using something like the cathedral of Notre Dame that would have been era appropriate, but someone came up with the idea to write "anachronism" on the Eiffel Tower and it made us laugh, so we went with that.

Extra History

"Revolution." We might be hearing that more in the future.

Michael Jebbett

Every INHABITED continent besides Australia then! :P *is an Aussie* The "permanent population" of Antarctica is international researchers.

eLNeroDiablo Studios

No it isn't. A bit of googling turned up this image of what it would look like if the ice was removed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Antarctica_Without_Ice_Sheet.png

Jorlem

"L'anachronisme" est magnifique.

Christopher Smith

Technivally Antarctica is an Archipelago under the ice

RMS Oceanic

He was married, lost his wife, made two trips to Europe and a trip to the US in the age of sail and decided to start a revolution all by age 23?! Impressive!

Joël Quenneville

~0:20: "The 7 Years War was fought on every continent besides Australia. " What battles were fought in Antarctica? :P

Jorlem

There's a collective description for 1763-1830: The Atlantic Revolutions. A domino chain of consequences all caused either directly by the Seven Years War or the events caused by it.

RMS Oceanic

So basically, our own revolution here in the US over the British Empire taxing its colonies led to OTHER revolutions in the Americas because of their empires taxing their colonies... My, doth the wheel turn.

Oh, never mind then. I didn't noticed it because thanks to my crappy internet, I have to watch yotube videos in low resolution. Good job non the less.

Iforgotmyname

They do only have six 10 minute episodes. Mike's on, what, 19 episodes that are 30-40 minutes long?

Kyle Clark

Well Mike started the story in Post-Roman Iberia, and didn't get to Simon Bolivar until two hours in. :P

RMS Oceanic

Yea, After listening to Mike Duncan's revolutions podcast. It feels a bit odd at just how abridged this is.

Herkles

...... That went by WAAAAAY too fast!

Joo-Hwan Jun

Wondering how much James pulled from Mike Duncan's Revolutions podcast. At least you condensed 3 seasons into 2 and a half minutes. :)

Kyle Clark

I noticed that too, but I found it funny when they put the french for 'anachronism' up the side in the first shot. Lampshading!

Tammy Spiller

I'm sorry to be that guy, but the Eiffel Tower construction began in 1887.
