Yea I agree. History should be bias its not history if we skip the parts that might offend people, or to save our self's from an argument.

2015-11-10 17:34:56 +0000 UTCOh Oh! We won't be doing another raffle until January. I just want to make sure you know that, and if you want to up your pledge and throw in Cincinnatus at the start of January, then I wish you good luck! But until then I don't want you to be disappointed when there's no chance to add him for a while. ;)

2015-11-10 07:31:02 +0000 UTCWhat would be cool is if you managed to end with the Fourth Ecumenical Council (of Chalcedon) -- it happened in the reign on Marcian, who was the last Emperor of the Theodossian Dynasty, which was replaced by the dynasty preceding Justinian's uncle ;)

2015-11-10 04:42:00 +0000 UTCOk, done - I've upped my patronage to the $15 level and I will do just that! :-)

2015-11-10 01:18:20 +0000 UTCYou could throw him into the vote if you back at the $15 level and get lucky in the raffle. Otherwise, I have to admit, it'll probably be a while before we see him again since he lost twice. :(

2015-11-10 01:15:08 +0000 UTCWell, I'll just keep writing him in every poll, then. Hopefully he'll win one of these years.

2015-11-10 01:02:32 +0000 UTCIf it wins, we'll have to narrow it down to figure out how much we can tell and still have it be a good, coherent story. But all of those things are potentially on the table!
Extra History
2015-11-10 01:00:10 +0000 UTCWe could if it's suggested, and if it wins the vote! We're certainly open to it.

2015-11-10 00:58:42 +0000 UTCI respect your opinion. But, history is broad and wide.

2015-11-10 00:45:43 +0000 UTCPoor Benedict Arnold, still getting hosed two centuries after his death!
Extra History
2015-11-10 00:39:26 +0000 UTCThen they left out the best parts! That's a really good short, though. I almost wish I hadn't watched it because now I'm sad that it's running behind in the polls right now.
Extra History
2015-11-10 00:38:55 +0000 UTCCincannatus has been on the poll twice now, but he lost both times. :( Sadly for him, he didn't lose by enough to qualify for this vote, which is for last-place losers only.
Extra History
2015-11-10 00:34:01 +0000 UTCOh, I'm sure it will be contentious, but it's a part of human history. We should never shy away from discussing that.

2015-11-10 00:33:23 +0000 UTCI keep hoping for Cincinnatus on the poll, or has that already been accepted as a future topic?

2015-11-08 12:42:35 +0000 UTCFlorence Cathedral: A Labor to Spark the Renaissance is perhaps a good one for a short (like Odenathus), however I must say I saw an excellent short about it from National Geographic: https://youtu.be/_IOPlGPQPuM but that one is very specific about how it was built and does not go into the further effect it had on history or the Renaissance.

2015-11-08 09:29:45 +0000 UTCDefinitely interested in the motives behind why Benedict Arnold would try to sell out his country especially after he took part in a successful campaign repelling Canadian reinforcements. But looks like I'll be waiting a while before I get to see it based on the polls. Maybe next round.

2015-11-08 09:19:44 +0000 UTCFunny thing is, there is at least a tangential link to English history, as Charles I's desire to get involved was at least part of what sparked his conflict with Parliament. I could get behind learning more about it. I wonder if it would be covered in multiple series?
RMS Oceanic
2015-11-07 21:15:31 +0000 UTCAny chance you are going to do a 30-years-war series? An often overlooked topic due to its lack of clear narrative and relevance to the "English" side of history. A series like yours might be able to tackle it. You could focus on the Swedish side (I can recommend the book by Peter Englund) or on Wallenstein.

2015-11-07 21:07:10 +0000 UTCDepends on how early "Early" is, but since they mention the (Roman) Empire, odds are they'll at least cover Donatism and Arianism, since they were the first divisions the Empire dealt with directly. They may also cover pre-Constantinian controversies like the proto-Donatist debate about how to deal with the Persecution of Decius.

2015-11-07 20:55:42 +0000 UTCWhen you mean early Christian heresies, are you talking about things like the Trinity? Or Monophysitism vs. the Chalcedonians? Or Manichaean and Gnostic beliefs?
