2015-06-01 14:40:15 +0000 UTCAfraid not. :( While Mpande continued to appear in ceremonies, Cetshwayo was concerned he might father another heir to challenge his rule, so he had Mpande's favorite wife and one of her children (the others escaped) killed in front of him. Over the next eleven years, he put on so much weight he couldn't walk anymore and then died quietly in 1872.
