Vote on an Extra History Topic!
Added 2015-05-26 01:20:40 +0000 UTCWhat topics would you like to see us cover on Extra History? Vote here and let us know! We use approval voting, which means that you can (and should!) vote on as many topics as interest you, whether that's just one topic or all four. The topic with the greatest amount of voter consensus will be the winner, and will air this fall following the First Crusades series! Link: http://bit.ly/1FRS7EC DEADLINE: Thursday, May 28 at 11:59pm PDT Current Lineup: Zulu Empire -- Justinian and Theodora -- First Crusades -- This Vote!

Hate to say it...but there's just too much History to cover. Every vote will be making us beg for an "all of the above" option. Heh heh. So glad you guys are fighting the good fight to show more people our history. Thanks for the schedule! Took me a while to come back and check for it, heh. Looking forward to the wacky adventures of Justinian and Theodora. =)

2015-06-12 06:48:01 +0000 UTCAbout every four months we run a "last place" vote where we bring back all the topics that came in fourth. In between then, James will re-use some of the topic suggestions periodically. So yes, everything has a chance to come back!

2015-05-27 04:10:22 +0000 UTCOoh, just thought of a fun one - Bavaria's King Ludwig II. A man who commissioned a few castles. Not because they were useful, but because he liked castles. Including one just across from a castle he already had so he could sit and watch his castle being built, apparently. (And added to my list of future suggest a topics into the place that feels right for it)

2015-05-26 21:26:36 +0000 UTCI'd still like to see switching to some sort of condorcet methodology for the voting, but I understand you guys want to keep the voting visible throughout. Oh, yes, I forgot First Crusades were coming up - That, I think, will be the second topic covered on Extra History that I was taught in school (US equivilent would be during middle school, I believe - I dropped History when I went into Sixth Form, which I think is about the age of US high school, maybe just the upper two years of it - WWI was either US high school first year, since I did a GCSE in history and we covered modern history [ironically starting where EC ends as far as history coverage goes])

2015-05-26 19:50:58 +0000 UTCI've got a few things for them to get to before I start suggesting her myself. I'm currently suggesting Mary Seacole each month. Boudica is... Below Bass Reeves and above William Wallace for me. ...I doubt I'll ever get to suggest the invention/discovery of the number 0, that's way down my list (In between the creation of the London Underground and Alexander the Great). Ah well.

2015-05-26 19:47:44 +0000 UTCAbsolutely nailing it with the topic selection. These are all excellent choices and I'm excited to see whichever one wins (personally I'd like to see Charlemagne the most, but that's just my opinion.)

2015-05-26 16:42:52 +0000 UTCAre we ever going to get to recycle some of these options for future votes? Maybe we should have a vote to see if a past option can get resubmitted as one of the topic options. Or would that confuse people? All I know is that this was an extremely difficult vote and I'm still so curious about the options from last month that didn't make the cut, even though I voted for the Crusades.

2015-05-26 09:16:32 +0000 UTCBetween writing, art, and production, it takes a really long time to produce these episodes. We actually need this big of a buffer in order to produce EH on a weekly basis!

2015-05-26 08:05:15 +0000 UTCWhaat?! You've got so many topics to go through, especially if you do them in five part specials.

2015-05-26 05:39:26 +0000 UTCIt was a cool one, but it's a raffle, and Boudica didn't win this time. :) You're welcome to submit again if you like!
