2014-11-05 08:09:13 +0000 UTCDepends on what year he made the title. The first white Samurai might be Anjin Miura, formerly William Adams, who received his title at the start of the 17th century,. So, Musashi would be 20 something years old.

2014-11-05 03:26:48 +0000 UTCLooking over the book synopsis, it seems Jack Fletcher is a bit late to become the first gaijin samurai. That title goes to Yasuke - serving under Oda Nobunaga himself - the first foreigner samurai, who was actually an African who came with a group of Jesuits. It is definitely worth reading about him; he was a really cool guy. I know he didn't impact the period much, but I hope he gets a brief mention in the Sengoku Jidai series.
