Early Access! Chapter 2: One Fateful Day in June

I don't think that a lot of coincidences had to happen for WW1 to start. The way that Europe had polarized against each other, I think war was inevitable. You are right though, there were a bunch of amazing coincidences that led to it starting the way it did.

Chris Wolfe

Cliffhanger !!! Almost brought me to tears. Left me wanting more. I love it.

Mom

Whenever I would like someone to get interested in history, I will show them this video. Thank you, crew of EC.

Jason Thomas

A very well told and moving episode. Very much congratulations, y'all! Tremendously well done!

Kathyrne

In the US textbooks tend to gloss over WW1 in general it just wasn't that important to America, we were never under threat, we didn't lose many people, we got rich as hell selling war material to pretty much all sides of the war, and got to jump in on the winning team for the exiting conclusion.

I do hope they mention Dragutin Dimitrijević at some point during the series he was then head of Serbian intelligence and the Black Hand, set up the assassination of archduke Ferdinand and had orchestrated a failed assassination attempt on Emperor Franz Joseph in 1911. Wikipedia has a pretty good article on him if anyone is curios. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragutin_Dimitrijevi%C4%87

Brilliant. Excellently done. I particularly like how you aren't serving up conclusions or labels... offer interpretations sure but let the facts tell the story. This series is going to be epiiiic....

Tom Murphy

I'm sure the Austrian emperor Franz Joseph will respond in a calm and rational manner when he learns that his heir and nephew (the emperors only son Rudolf had committed suicide) has been killed by a group of assassins who received arms and instruction from the Serbian military.

I gotta ask, is this all from what you have pulled from research? No over or under exageration? Because if it is, damn... what a story! I'm dumbfounded that no one has made some kind of media whether book or film of this moment. And here I always thought Franz and Sophie died in the parade, at least that's what was in my Textbook.

Zachary Taylor

Wow, that was quite... emotional. I've never really heard someone describe the beginning of the war in such raw emotional terms. Good stuff.

Brian Schulze

And people say the little things don't matter. This episode is nothing but the little things happening and those little things truly mattering in a global scale. And such an emotional episode as well. Good job Exta History crew!

Peggy (Lizzytpau)

You guys did a great job conveying this series of events. It's amazing how many coincidences had to happen for WWI to start.

Wesley Wu

Wow. I'm about to cry. awesome video. in an awkward way.

Peter Marenthyu

A brilliant piece of history. A well executed delivery that grips you like a good story (and it is)! It really drives home how much consequence one persons actions can have on the world. Well done guys! Bravo!

Maximilian Vermilye

Absolutely chilling at the end. Well written, terrifically narrated, and superbly drawn. Thanks for this!

Ryan Young

I hadn't expected you to take such a close, emotional look at that day. It was a good decision and change of pace, and really put us there on that day.

Mask

This is quite probably the best work you've ever done. Thank you!

Trejaan Cavelion

That was great, as expected. Thank you, guys. o/

Frederico Lohmann Jr

Wow...that series of events...and that end. Thank you guys, as always.

Krishna Markwort

Just very sad. What a tragic waste of life.
