2025-03-15 00:46:37 +0000 UTCTruthfully, Hiei actually does like Kuwabara and in a weird way is fond of him in a little brother kind of way which is why Hiei always makes snide remarks to antagonize him for fun. Otherwise, he would have a problem with Yukina and Kuwabara potentially being together because he acts like he doesn’t mind or really care.

The procedure reduced his power down to the lowest possible level and it was through his fights throughout the series that he regained all his lost power in addition to becoming stronger than ever. That’s why Hiei was improving so much during the Dark Tournament. Think of it like you use to be a high performance athlete but you had an injury that sidelined you for a long time. You always had the ability you just needed time and practice for your muscle memory to kick in. In Hiei’s case he was so determined to accomplish his goal that he exceeded expectations.
