Fact fact: This isn't necessarily important to the plot, but a lot of the screen time that Shizuru gets in the anime was originally the screentime Yusuke's mom got in the manga because in the manga version, she learns he's a spirt detective, she goes to the Dark Tournament with Keiko and Shizuru (the Shizuru and Saiyo romance angle was an anime exclusive storyline for some reason), and she's with Keiko a lot in Chapter Black, so for some reason when they made the anime they omitted her character almost entirely accept for the first few episodes in season 1. I just recently learned that. Kind of weird creative decision on the anime studio. I think her being in the show regularly with Keiko and Shizuro as part of the side cast would've helped the audience like a more as a character instead of seeing her just as an irresponsibly alcoholic parent because there's actually more to her character than that.

Oh that's cool information!

We already noticed in episode 99 that it wasn’t his real father. In episode 98 we still thought it was his father, so we might've mentioned it again in that video. Anime often has new, shocking information, which is why we took "father' literally. We just thought it was new information.

Yes, we already noticed that they didn't mean his real father in episode 99. In episode 98 (which we will upload today) we still thought it was his father, so don't be surprised if we mention it again. We already recorded that episode, so we couldn't change it. I'm very curious about his real father. I will check out the manga soon

Yeah, we understand her as well. It's shocking for her and it's a normal response actually. She also doesn't know Yusuke that well

It seems like Keiko's father really liked Yusuke. I think he would be happy if they married in the future.

We know what an ancestor is, but we were confused because he said "father" and we thought they revealed that as new information. We already recorded the next episode before uploading this one on patreon, so we still thought they were father and son. So don't be suprised if we mention it again 😂

Thank you so much. We're happy to hear that. Such a great compliment! We understand everything that's being said in the anime, but listening is easier than speaking.

Both of you have great English 🙏🏼 I live in California and I only speak English. I WISH I could speak multiple languages like you guys. I don't normally watch reactors who react to English shows when English isn't their first language, mainly because I feel like they miss way too much information in the show. You guys catch just as much info as any native English speaking reactor 👌🏼

Y'all think ancestor is someone who's related to you and is dead. a person, typically one more remote than a grandparent, from whom one is descended. He's his great ×10 grandfather.

Kind of like Ichigo and another character from Bleach, but I don't want to say the name since I'm not sure if Bleach is a series they'll want to react to in the future.

I feel this is the beginning of Yusuke really growing up. The fact Keiko's father is so fond of Yusuke is a good sign, so I'm sure he certainly has his blessing to marry his daughter. I think it's easier for fathers to give their daughters off to men they've known their whole life since they were kids.

That's a big reveal. Kurama actually knows and has personal history with one of demon world's 3 great kings.

I think you 2 were taking Father too literally. It's more an ancestral father

A lot of people give Koroko a hard time for turning away Yusuke but I think it makes perfect sense.
I mean just an arc ago Yusuke was struggling with even the idea of killing a human even an evil one. And now because of his Mazoku blood awakening, his mind has been warped into not only killing but eating humans being a normal type of thing unconsciously which shocked Kuroko.

He not really Yusuke father. They meant like ancestral father ... It was never stated if his demon blood came from his mother or father's side ... But fun fact in the manga they show Yusuke's real father

Raizen is just Yusukes ancestor, it's just that because Yusuke was able to directly succeed Raizens Mazoku blood, Raizen and by definition his followers consider Yusuke Raizens kid. Of course Yusuke had a human father but of course he's a no show so all he had was his mom.

Fun fact. The Yusuke and Keiko segment of this episode according to an interview he did, is Justin Cook's (Yusuke va) favorite scene both personally and to voice in the whole series 😁
